Brody’s second XC meet this year!

Even though this meet was after a long day of school in the hot humid weather Brody still beat his time by 3 seconds from his last race (15:47) and ran with the varsity boys this week! He kept his own pace the entire time and turned the jets on at the finish line!! It’s so fun watching him run, he’s a natural! He had his usual dan group…Me, Clayton and Papa but this week Noah also came to watch before his baseball practice.

Freedom 250 continued….

Sunday was race day and I got to do my morning run all through the monuments and through DC! With all the national guards, secret service and police presence instead this was the safest day EVER for a run by myself through the city! I couldn’t help but just think about how thankful I was for our freedom and the country we have the entire time I was running so literally every guard, police, etc that I passed I thanked them for their service and their responses just made me want to go hug them!! They’d say “it’s my honor”, “ thank you for your support”, “thank you!” and some of these guys/girls were just teenagers…only 18 and they have risked their life for ours!

Most amazing sunrise views!

Like I mentioned Ryan was able to get us All Access passes so we got to go everywhere including the garages and both suite decks! It was AMAZING!!!

Us rushing to be late as usual LOL

The drivers before the race!

Sunday we had dinner at a really cool Italian place!

The weekend did have to come to and end and while we thought we’d all see each other in the lobby at 5:45am to catch our Ubers to the airport I was woken up at 2:30am with a text from Delta letting us know our 8:30am flight was cancelled and we needed to pick a new flight. While normally this would have been super frustrating this time it was actually good news! We got to sleep on a little longer, I got one more run through DC and Delta gave us each $150 credit. Luckily Papa had been staying with the boys and the Furr babies all weekend and was able to pick Noah up from school that day for us since we’d not be getting home later.

We are sooooo grateful Papa was willing to stay with the boys all weekend and get them to and from school and fed so that we could enjoy this memorable weekend in DC with Sheryl and Ryan and Bee and Steve!

My extra sunrise run in DC!

Freedom 250 Indy Race in Washington DC

Just finished one of the most memorable weekends ever at the Freedom 250 race with Sheryl and Ryan and their friends!! We met the nicest people all weekend and DC was absolutely beautiful!  With luck our early morning flight was cancelled which allowed me to do one more early morning run through the monuments before heading back home.

Thanks to Ryan and Team Penske for getting us into all the top notch events and seats like the Freedom 250 cocktail reception Friday evening with all the big wigs that made this event happen along with all the drivers!! It was so cool!

Saturday’s garage tour that Ryan got us setup with where we got to see all the cars and drivers! Then we toured the city since this was mine and Claytons first time to DC.

Wrapped up the night with dinner at this great steak house!
