Ho Ho Ho...Merry Christmas

Haley was so much fun this Christmas, she absolutely LOVED all of her presents this year! Well...I'm not sure how much she really liked her Barbie four wheeler but Dad sure liked it! I don't think it will take her long to warm up to it, she was just asking today to sit on it so we will see! Thank you to everyone for all of her wonderful gifts. She is one spoiled little girl and i think that she knows it. Christmas Eve of course began with our annual tradition...a visit to Starbucks! Later in the afternoon we headed to Church with the family.
Haley did pretty good through the church service but we did have to step out one time for a quick diaper change. Next we were off to Aunt Sheryl and Uncle Ryan's house for drinks and appetizers with the family! We had a great time and Haley even got to open a few presents from Mimi and Grandpa and Aunt Sheryl. When Haley woke up on Christmas Morning i tried to snap a few pictures so we could all see her first impression of all the gifts that Santa left her. Haley was very anxious to get her new baby doll out of the package. She pulled her around the house everywhere she went that day. They even got to learn numbers together :) Thanks Riley and Reganne! Another one of Haley's favorite toys from Christmas is her coloring table. She LOVES to walk around with ALL of her crayons and will occasionally stop by to color on her coloring books. She liked it so much that we had to set up a coloring table at Mimi and Grandpa's house while we were there this weekend. Uncle Ryan and Aunt Sheryl went to NY recently and got Haley a drum set and a jack in the box from F.A.O Schwartz which clearly Haley loves. Unfortunately i wasn't thinking and when we opened up presents with Uncle Gary, Aunt Mandy, Aunt Melissa, Uncle Whit and Mimi and Grandpa i did not have my camera on hand. Haley actually wore one of her new outfits from Aunt Melissa and Uncle Whit today and she looked so cute, I'll have to snap a picture! Of course she got several other gifts from them as well but i don't want to even begin naming all of the gifts that Haley received this year. Uncle Gary and Aunt Mandy got Haley a care bare that she likes to snuggle with and a piano that makes her think she is a pro! Oh and another favorite is her new pink cell phone...she is so cute with it! I'll try to get a video but she walks around with it up to her mouth saying "Hi Dad" and is basically yelling it into the phone! I love it. Since Mimi has 2 cell phones and Haley likes to steal both of them she bought her one of her own. She also got her first kitchen! Hopefully all this cooking that she does will make her want to eat more! It is so cute, it makes sounds when you put the pot on the stove, turn on the water, put the toast in the toaster, we might have a real chef here shortly.

Lastly we finished up the weekend with Haley's first trip to the Aquarium! She did really well as long as we didn't stay looking at the same fish for too long and she really liked all the bright colors of the fish and of course their size! I think she was a little sad that she couldn't touch them but she will realize why as she gets older.

Video Updates

Sorry I haven't updated the site in a while but things have been absolutely crazy around here but i did take some videos a couple of weeks of ago of Haley walking but she's much more sturdy now than she was in the videos but unfortunately that is all i have right now :) Basically she is still into everything and she LOVES walking and feeding Kylah! I'm sorry i can't give more information yet but i will post another update shortly! Stay tuned...

She's on the move!

Haley took her first two steps on October 2nd, 2008 and since then she has continued to only take one or two steps. We haven't really been encouraging her to walk though because she seemed to be getting into enough things without walking so we were trying to save our sanity as long as possible. However on November 18th, 2008 she started taking several steps many times! Since she always seems so interested in the camera it is very difficult to take a video of her but I was finally able to catch a very short video of her walking. YEAH....GO HALEY, but look out Mom and Dad :) I can only imagine all the trouble she is going to get herself into now that she can walk. When we catch her doing something or about to do something she screams, laughs, and then takes off to get what ever it was that she was after as fast as she can before we grab her. She certainly thinks this is a big game. She is absolutely hilarious when we put shoes on her and she tries to walk you would think that she has the longest legs in the world. She picks her legs up really high and them stomps them back down. She had the ladies at daycare in tears because they were laughing so hard at her! Crazy girl i tell you. I'll try to get a video of that as well but we'll have to see.
We recently got Haley's 1 year old pictures done and I think that they turned out really well. It was a cold day and Haley wasn't very happy about that but she still took some cute pictures. I like our family pictures as well.
Some more news is that Manace got ENGAGED!!! Yeah!! We are so excited for her and we got to see her beautiful ring the other day when she came over to visit :) Congrats Manace!

Our mischievous girl!

"What....a girl can't go around with dirty feet!"
I can not believe how much Haley has changed since she turned one. She is now getting into absolutely everything. She is definitely a toddler now and she is out to prove it. She loves to go through all the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers, oh and she most certainly likes to go through the pantry and see what she can get into in there :( Lastly, we found that we have to keep the bathroom doors closed now because she loves to pull all the toilet paper off the rolls and play in the water in the toilet...YUCK!!! It's been a tough adjustment for us but hopefully after we pick up some locks for the cabinets this weekend we will be a little better off. I should mention that Clayton's way of showing my Haley's new tricks was to leave everything out that she had pulled out of the cabinets and the toilet paper all over the bathroom, and just shut the door so it would be a surprise when i opened the door....gotta love it!
Sorry, I forgot that I never posted pictures of Haley's second Halloween but here are some pictures we took earlier in the day with her. After taking a stroll in her new wagon with Kylah (Haley's best friend!) we headed over to spend the evening at Aunt Sheryl and Uncle Ryan's house. Haley went tricking or treating through the office the Wednesday before Halloween so she already had lots of candy and she had her very first Heart Walk to attend Saturday morning 11/1/08 so she needed to get her sleep. Haley was a top walker for our company because of all the money she raised and was treated with VIP passes, red carpet treats and snacks, and even had her picture taken with the rest of the top walkers which will be turned into a billboard in downtown Atlanta so keep an eye out for Haley's picture and thank you to everyone who made donations for this great cause!

A quick video....

I had to post this video because it cracks me up. Just so you know ahead of time I am talking on the phone to Sheryl while I am recording this video :) I just love how Kylah tries to get in on all the fun too!!!

Remember just 1 year ago?

I can't believe that a year has already passed by! In a way it seems Haley was just born but then again I couldn't imagine our lives with out her. What did we do with all that free time :) Honestly though she has been like a dream come true. This past year has been absolutely amazing and I wouldn't change one bit of it. Haley was 6 lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches long when she was born and at her 1 year check up she is 16 lbs 2 oz and 28 1/2 inches long. All and all her check up went great, however we do have to go back to the Dr. in another month to check on her weight again since she is not even on the charts. She was very sick for 10 days recently so hopefully she will be fine when we go back in a month, but other than that the Dr. said she looks great!

We began Haley's first birthday by setting up her new ball pit and presents the night before so that when she woke up in the morning she would be so excited...which she certainly was. She was so interested in her ball pit that she wouldn't pay any attention to the rest of her gifts. Naturally we had to take Haley to starbucks so that she could have her starbucks milk! It's her favorite...haha. Mimi, Grandpa, Aunt Sally, Uncle Laney and Aunt Sheryl were all there to celebrate the birthday breakfast. Aunt Sheryl also stopped by chick-fil-a and picked up some chicken mini biscuits for her. Exactly one year after Haley was born (3:10pm on 10/24/08) Haley was at Moe's eating her cheese quesadilla and sprite which she just LOVES!!! Next we were off to Uncle Smitty and Aunt Pattie's house for dinner to celebrate with the Family! We didn't stay out too late though so that Haley could get rested up for her 1st birthday party on Saturday.
Haley's 1st Birthday party was GREAT!!! She LOVED her cake as most of you saw from the video clip I posted the other day. She ended up getting it everywhere and we had to give her a bath and change her clothes. The whole thing was quite entertaining for all of us thanks to Aunt Mandy for getting Haley to laugh through out the video. She didn't like the party hats too much though but I was able to get a quick picture before she pulled them off. Once again the ball pit was a huge hit with the kids. Since orange is Haley's favorite color and she loves Tigger we did a Tigger theme. We can not believe all the toys received! We are still trying to figure out where we are going to put all of them but even after everyone left after the party Haley went back through everyone of her presents and pulled them out again so that she could play with them. Some of them were still in the boxes still but that didn't stop her. All in all it was a wonderful 1st birthday for Haley and even Kylah was able to participate in the festivities.

I also received this picture of Uncle Gary and Haley from our trip to St. Louis recently. Uncle Gary and Aunt Mandy watched Haley for us the day of the wedding while we were off with the bridal party taking pictures, etc before the reception. Haley looks like she was just caught :)

The Big Day.....Haley's 1st Birthday!!!

Haley's 1st birthday went off with out a hitch! She had such a great day and was so excited to play with all her friends and family. I will post more pictures soon but wanted to go ahead and put the infamous birthday cake eating video out here for everyone to enjoy! Stay tuned for more pictures from the big day!

Who said money couldn't make you happy?

As you can see Haley was very excited to receive her card from Ma and John with some green to feed her pig :) That's what the card said! First she made sure it was addressed to her, then she looked at us like "is this really mine"? That's when she started smiling, laughing and clapping :)

We went to Bert's pumpkin patch farm this past weekend and Haley couldn't believe all the Orange....she was in Haley's world!!! Papa came with us to find the perfect pumpkin for Haley! After searching and searching she found the perfect ones! At the end of the day she was exhausted and we got a pumpkin for Dad, Mom, Haley and Kylah!

We are headed to Savannah this weekend to see Aunt Melissa, Uncle Whit & Uncle Gary, Aunt Mandy! Haley had been pretty sick last weekend so we were not able to make it to Uncle Gary's 30th b-day party so we are going to re-celebrate with him again this weekend. Haley is really looking forward to getting some ice cream with him. She also wore herself out making this card for Uncle Gary.

Haley has the Golden ticket...

Our trip to St. Louis was a success! When we got to the airport I gave Haley our ticket to hold and the way she was shaking it and laughing you would have thought she had the "golden ticket". It was so funny! Our second flight with Haley went great, she was such a trooper thanks to tigger. About half way into the trip we could tell she was getting very sleepy and slept until we arrived at the gate. Once we got off the plane Haley started clapping so i told her "yeah we made it!" Like usual, once we landed we hit the ground running so that we could have a chance to visit with everyone. Our first stop was at Ma and Johns house. (Great grandma and grandpa). This was a great opportunity for Haley to be able to get on the floor and have some play time while we all visited. Ma had a big Mickey (w/ an orange shirt) laying out which of course Haley loved to play with. She also had a great time playing with Honey and sharing her toys :) We got Haley dressed in her pink Cardinals gear and headed to the stadium to meet the rest of the crew. Haley really enjoyed her first Cardinals game and even had a chance to taste her first baseball game pretzel! She had the opportunity to witness 3 home runs while we were there too!
Just before we left for St. Louis Haley started walking around if we would just hold her one hand for her. She was still a little nervous about letting go. Stay tuned...i have another update though :)
So who does everyone think she looks like now? Mom or Dad or Aunt Sheryl?
It's the day of the wedding and we have to be at the hair salon by 9:30am but we still need to go visit one more side of the family. We met at 7:30am for a very quick visit with Grandpa, Great Grandpa, and great Aunt Sis. Haley was pretty busy eating her pancakes, fruit and toast that she didn't really get to visit too much but we still had a good time! Then it was off to the salon for our Mimosas with the Bride. The wedding went off with out a hitch and Haley had a great time dancing with Dad again. I even got a video of them :) By this time i had put her in her Pj's because it was very chilly where we were sitting. Haley really enjoyed playing with the center pieces and eventually ended up falling asleep on the dance floor! Poor girl...she had a very long day!
Well all good things had to come to and end and we were all very excited to get back home and rest up a little before Monday. Haley had a great time seeing everyone but was also glad to get back home and play with her puppy Kylah again :) I think they were counting each others teeth!

11 Month Update

We are head to St. Louis for the weekend so i will do another update once we return but wanted to go ahead and give you guys a short update. Haley now has 6 teeth!!! She will only eat foods that she can pick up with her fingers....absolutely NO baby food or anything that comes on a spoon. I even tried to trick her by using a normal size spoon but she was not having it. She does love Wendy's frosty's though! We had a ladies weekend in Savannah 2 weeks ago and Haley enjoyed her first frosty. We are getting ready for Haley's 1st birthday party and can't wait to see all of our family and friends in ATL. As you can see from the video we are getting close to walking but still have not gotten up the courage to let go and actually walk on her own. She still needs a little work on her driving skills but she is getting there. She does have a cute smile and a wave so maybe she could get herself out of a ticket :) Haley is really enjoying her snuggles bear that Elisabeth gave her. Haley was crawling around and then all of sudden remembered that her snuggle bear was in her toy box. Although he was way in the back she was determined to get him. She reached and reached and finally got him. She had to shake him really hard like a pom pom to let us know she got him. Then he got to watch her play with her other toys....just like a tea party :)

Haley recently received a letter from Ma and John (her Great Grandma and Grandpa) and of course she read it all by herself. Once she was done reading it she brought it over to Clayton and I to re read to her again so that she could better understand it! She's a crazy one. Stay tuned for more pictures from our second airplane ride to St. Louis.

More Video's!

Here are two more videos for everyone's enjoyment! The first video is Haley locking Grandma JoAnn outside on the patio. You have to be very careful about walking out any doors that open to the inside, because Haley will crawl over to them and stand there and laugh at you through the windows not realizing that you can't get back in with out knocking her over! Clayton and I have both had some interesting experiences with this :)
The second video is Haley enjoying her new pool from Mimi and Grandpa (Mom and Jim)!!! She LOVES it as you can tell. Kylah has even had the opportunity of joining her in her pool which Haley really likes, but not so much from Kylah's perspective.

10 Month Update

Loving her apple juice and so is Kylah :) Haley doesn't like for you to hold her sippy cup for her, we have to put in down in front of her and then she will pick it up on her own and drink out of it. She has become quite the independent little girl! Of course now that Haley has learned how to feed Kylah they have become great buddies! Kylah loves to sit in front of Haley's highchair and wait for her to drop some food. A few new foods that Haley has been eating is cottage cheese (not her favorite by any means) macaroni and cheese, rice or anything else that we are eating and can break off small pieces for her. Oh i almost forgot Haley's two front teeth finally came through so now she has her two bottom and two top teeth!
Haley loves to play with all her toys but especially any orange toys. For some reason she just LOVES her orange toys. We can put several of the exact same toys down in front of her and if one of them is orange that is the one she will grab. I keep trying to tell her pink is her favorite color, but obviously she has her own ideas. Her new favorite game is chase! She loves to either chase us or for us to chase her. She will crawl really really fast cracking up laughing and then when she knows we are going to catch her she gives up and lays flat on her belly and starts laughing. Kylah can even pitch in on this game!
Haley has become quite the explorer lately and is always crawling somewhere. Unfortunately with this comes one more thing for us to worry about which is she has now learned how to climb the stairs :( Ah...but something to offset that is when you pretend like you are going to kiss her she will crawl over to you and actually give you a kiss....it's so cute, we are loving it!

9 Month Update

Wow, how time goes by so quickly! So much has happened in the past month and i haven't had anytime to update the blog. Haley is 9 1/2 months now and weighs 15 lbs and 9 oz and is 28 inches long! We took her for her check up yesterday and the Dr. said she looks great and is acting so much like a toddler even though she really isn't one yet. She crawls around all day saying Momma and Dadda now! We don't have a specific day of when she started saying these because she has been saying them for a while with her tongue sticking out so we didn't count that. She now says them normally so we both kind of agree that she started saying them at the same time. :) She still hasn't taken her first step yet but she is really building up her leg muscles by all the pulling up she is doing. She will keep going up and down on the couch until her legs are about to give out! She's crazy! Aunt Melissa watched Haley for us all summer long and we can't even express how great it was to have her here playing and teaching Haley so many new things. Haley was so sad to see her Aunt Melissa leave after the summer was over, as Clayton and I were as well but Aunt Melissa helped us transition her to daycare before she left. She took Haley 3 days in a row to her daycare for a few hours and just played with her in that environment so she could get used to it. So far she has been doing great and loves playing with all her friends! This is a picture of her first day at Daycare! Haley also loves to eat anything we are eating but we have to watch her because she will bite into everything and always gets a big piece in her mouth that have to fish out!
We finally got a 4 generation picture done when Ma and John (my grandparents) came into town to visit! We had so much fun and Haley loves to see and play with her Great Grandparents! Of course we all went shopping together too on our ladies day out! Haley loves shopping..... I guess it is in her genes! We are looking forward to seeing them again in a month in St. Louis!
Our next trip this summer was to Charlotte, NC again to visit Uncle Gary and Aunt Mandy again. I was waiting to update the blog so that i could post the pictures from there but we are still waiting on Grandma Reed (Mimi) to get them off of her camera! I will still post them when she finally sends them to me. We did have a great time though and Haley went swimming in the lake for the first time. She loved the water but hated how the life jacket kept coming over her head when she tried to float in the water on her raft.
Recently Aunt Sally, Linda, Rachel, and Aunt Melissa all came into town for Rachel's bachlorette party in ATL! Of course Haley did not attend this but we all had a great time and Haley got to play with Aunt Sally a lot that weekend especially since she stayed a few extra days to visit. Naturally we went shopping again, where Haley got several outfits, not that she really needed any clothes but what can you say, they are all just so cute!

1. Haley playing with her toys!
2. Haley waving hi to herself :)
3. Haley playing with Minnie at Dinner
4. Haley crawling
5. Haley crawling with Kylah

8 Month Update

Wow, it's amazing how fast Haley is changing these days. She is doing so many new things and turning from a baby into a toddler. It is so exciting to see her accomplish all of these new tasks however it is so sad to see her grow this quickly! Haley is crawling all over the place and LOVES to play hide and go seek with her puppies Kylah and Kobe! She calls for them by yelling at them and if they don't come to her then she starts crawling towards them laughing all the way! She thinks it is so funny when she is chasing them, but occasionally the tables turn and they start chasing her :) Haley is now pulling herself up on EVERYTHING!!! Once she gets herself up on her sing a long toy she will reach for the couch and then its off to the ottoman or your leg or whatever is near her as long as she can keep moving. She wears us out just watching her and of course having to chase her to make sure she doesn't fall and hurt herself. There are times when she pretends like she is just going to sit next to the couch, but it's a trick...she is really contemplating when she is going to stand up! She also likes her tiger walker! She isn't walking across the room with it yet but I'm sure it will only be another week or so before she does. Haley's new favorite toy is her monkey that Dad got her for Christmas, good thing we did her bathroom in Monkey's! This is also Kobe (our Boxer's) favorite toy too so it's a race to see who gets it first! As you saw Haley got to it first this time! Oh I almost forgot...Haley is now waving to everyone! She of course waves the exact same way that she sees you waving to her so she is really waving at herself :) She thinks it is so funny though, she will spend several minutes waving at herself and just cracking up laughing!
I'm sure some of you noticed Haley's booboo on her nose, it isn't the camera! Haley had her first fall this past week! We took her to the Dr. and they said everything looked fine, just a few bumps and bruises and of course the bloody nose that you can still see. We did go baby proof shopping this weekend though!!! Well that's our 8 month update...I will try not to let so much time go by again before my next update!

A new video!

Aunt Melissa has been watching Haley for the past week and will continue to do so for the next month or so. Haley has been having a great time as you can tell from the video! Peek a boo is one of her favorite games! As i mentioned before she is crawling all over the place now! The dogs have to be on guard at all times because they are always her number one target. Luckily she is usually laughing while she is on her way over to get them so they usually have a warning. Haley really enjoys it when we are at my parents house and ALL the dogs are there to chase! She gets so excited and cracks up laughing when they all start running from her.
Now that she can crawl, she is really getting interested in walking. She loves to stomp her feet on the ground and let out a really loud squeel and smiles from ear to ear...showing her two bottom teeth! Within the next few days she will have a few more teeth to join her bottom two.
For Clayton's first Father's Day, Haley and I secretly got our pictures done together! This is one of the pictures that we took, but its only a proof but eventually i hope to post the actual pictures!

She's on the move....

On May 31st, 2008 Haley started crawling and now there is no stopping her. We are going to start baby proofing the house this weekend! Apparently she crawls just like her Daddy did...imagine that! I don't have any pictures to show you yet but i promise to get some up soon!
The whole gang was together again for Memorial Day weekend. It was another crazy but exciting weekend with all of the Brother and Sisters in town and all 4 kids! Haley and Riley had a great time playing on the floor with their toys! It's amazing to see how much they have grown since they last saw each other at Christmas.
Reganne was such a great cousin to Haley, any time Haley started crying Reganne was right there to offer her a hug, play with her and her toys, and would put her pacifier back in her mouth if she dropped it! They were all so cute together! Haley's cousin Connor arrived on Saturday and although she didn't get to do too much playing with him she really enjoyed watching him play with all his toys and learning how to walk! He even took his first few steps while they were in town! We all spent many days at the Lake and pool together! Haley really likes the pool as long as she doesn't have to be in a raft and loves it when Dad plays with her in the pool! She even played in the pool with Uncle Gary and let Aunt Mandy feed her while she tanned in the sun with her SPF 50 :) Even Aunt Manace made it out to the pool with us on Memorial Day!

Haley's 6 Month Pictures

We finally left a weekend open and were able to get Haley's 6 month pictures! I know we are a couple of weeks behind, but better late than never! The black and white one is our favorite but there were several to choose from that we also liked. Of course we did another family picture too! Haley got her second tooth in this week, so now she has both of her front bottom teeth! She is looking forward to spending Memorial Day weekend with her Aunts and Uncles and cousins!!! It's going to be another crazy weekend, but will definitely be eventful!

First Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day was great! Haley was such a trooper on our trip to Memphis! It took us about 8 hours to get there but she smiled the whole way! She even got her First tooth in while we were there! We could see that it was right below the gum line and it finally came through! She was trying to teeth on everything the night before including Uncle Gary's cheesecake that she was admit she have and Dad's beer! :) I haven't been able to get a picture of her tooth yet but I'll keep trying!

While at the wedding Dad and Haley were able to have their first father daughter dance! It was so cute! Uncle Gary soon joined the dance floor with them and was able to get a good laugh out of Haley...she was eating up all this attention! Aunt Melissa was able to comfort Haley while she was getting ready for a nap!
Haley continues to love the lake and Grandma Reed was teaching her to drink out of a cup! This time she wore her bikini and of course she always has a great time when Dad is holding her! I think all that fresh air really makes Haley tired because she always takes a good nap when we are on the lake...here she is picking out her spot to nap! She is really loving bath time these days so hopefully that means she'll like the lake and pool water.
Two weeks ago Haley went to her first "Family Day" event at McKesson, where she was able to visit Aunt Sheryl and Grandma Reed! She had such a great time watching all the kids playing, she kept trying to talk to them. If you look at her name tag it says "Partier" :)
Of course we continue to love every minute with her! She is growing so fast and everyday she amazes us with something else.

Our traveling girl...

Lake Trip!!! Last weekend Haley made her first trip to Charlotte NC to visit Uncle Gary and Aunt Mandy! Saturday morning we put Haley in her swim suit, loaded up the sun block (spf 50), packed the coolers and headed to the Lake...of course with her life jacket that she absolutely despised!!! She really enjoyed being on the lake and actually took about a 2 hour nap in the cuddy cabin down below...she enjoyed feeling the boat roll over the waves and the cool breeze coming through the cabin while she rested up! We also went to lunch by boat! Next weekend we are headed to Memphis TN for a wedding....wonder where we will travel to next :)
Haley has really been enjoying her exersaucer still and finds it to be quite relaxing! Since she is teething she wants to put everything in her mouth....including this big Duck :) Maybe she was just going to give it a kiss! She is getting more and more into her books and enjoyed the visit with Papa the other day when he came over to read to her after her 6 month shots! Haley now weighs 14 1/2 lbs and is 26 inches long!
Our picky eater is only getting worse...now that she is getting to be a big girl she doesn't want to be held while she takes her bottle. She wants to be sitting in her chair, couch, or bouncy seat, stroller, etc while she drinks her bottle. She usually falls asleep at the end so i just let her sleep there a few minutes and then moved her to her crib. Of course we still have to have our tag blanket over our face so no one can watch her drink! She's a crazy one, but she knows what she wants! We have started eating baby food as well and so far she likes peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and banana's! The only food that she doesn't like so far is avocado's! I can't blame her though, i don't like those either!

We have our plane tickets and are ready for take off....

On Friday April 4, 2008 Haley took her first plane ride! We arrived at the airport at 7am and she was in the best mood! Saying "Hey" to everyone around her and screaming just like a little girl with excitement. At first she was a little nervous....but then she realized how exciting this was going to be. Haley worked very diligently on her very own laptop to book her plane ticket for her trip to St. Louis, MO. She was such a happy baby on the plane and of course was just eating up all the attention everyone was giving her. After settling down a little from the initial excitement she was ready for a nap and of course we made sure she had her "tag blanket" so she could sleep!
Once we arrived in St. Louis Haley was well rested and ready for the trip to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house but not before we road the Avis shuttle bus to pick up our rental car and pay a quick visit to Great Aunt Sally and Uncle Laney. Once we finally made it to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's house Haley was able to spend some quality time while "Ma" read her some books that her Great Aunt Sis gave her! After a busy busy day...Dad and Haley eventually settled down for a nap together!
Saturday morning Haley was finally able to meet her other Grandpa and Great Grandpa over breakfast! They were pretty excited to get to meet her!!!
Saturday evening was the night of the engagement party (the reason we were in STL). Great Uncle Art was the first to hold Haley that evening, this was the first time he was able to meet her as well but Great Aunt Linda was able to make it to Atlanta the day of Haley's birth, and now they meet again! Art and Linda are the parents of the soon to be newly weds, Rachel and Cory.
This whirl wind trip is almost to an end, but not before Haley went to her Great Great Aunt Gertie's house! Gertie had a good time tickling Haley's feet and hearing Haley laugh! After visiting with all our family members we headed to the airport again for Haley's 2nd flight! Aunt Sheryl and Melissa and of course Grandma Reed were so helpful the entire trip especially while trying to get through the airport with ALL of Haley's stuff. It's amazing how much you have to travel with when bringing an infant!
Oh...by the way...we have a very picky eater on our hands, she doesn't like it when people watch her eat so we either have to put her tag blanket over her head or she will use her hands to hide her eyes!

First Hair Cut at 5 months!!!!

Awww...her first hair clippings.....just like the rest of the ladies in Haley's life our hair is an important aspect of our lives so Grandma Reed and I took Haley to get her first hair cut from Christy at the hair salon today! Christy is Sheryl's soon to be sister in law :) She has been cutting many of our family members hair for a few years so it was only natural that we take Haley to Christy as well! Plus she has an 8 month old baby boy so she realizes how big of an event this was for all of us. Haley was such a trooper all day...flashing that big smile at everyone! She knew how beautiful she looked. She saw everyone looking at her while she got her first hair cut. Thank goodness her great Aunt Pattie was also getting her hair done at the same time and since she is a professional photographer we had her take some really good pictures of Haley's big event. Of course we saved some of her hair for memories! She even put her head down with out having to ask her while Christy was trimming the back! She's a pro already! After she was done with her hair cut we got to play and I told her how beautiful she looked and how proud i was of her for being so good during her hair cut. When she gets older I'll take her for ice cream!

Haley's First Easter!

Haley's first Easter was so much fun! We made it to the early service at Church, and then back to Grandma and Grandpa Reed's house to celebrate this amazing day with many family memebers. She spent her first Easter with both of her grandparents, great Aunt Sally, second cousin Kera and Angie, great Aunt Pattie and great Uncle Smitty and of course Aunts Sheryl and Melissa & Uncles Ryan and Whit. Ryan's parent's Mary and Bob were also able to join the festivities! She was amazed by all the colorful eggs! Next year I'm sure she will be running around looking for all the Easter eggs she can get her hands on. Amazingly enough i don't think she tried to eat any of the eggs! Maybe next year!

Haley's First Road Trip

Haley's first road trip.....to Savannah, GA for her first St. Patty's Day Parade!!! She had so much fun with her Aunt Melissa and Uncle Whit. We took her to the parade Friday morning and popped her first bottle at 9am! What a partier!!! She will fits right in :) It was a cold morning so we had to make sure she was nice and warm but she really did enjoy the parade while she was awake. After about 15 minutes of the parade she passed out! Now that is a huge party foul so we will have to work on that HA HA! Saturday Haley went to her first Rugby tournament in Savannah. What a crazy group, but we had a great time and Haley was dressed perfectly for the event! She was all set to get a nice tan.
I finally decided to try to put Haley on her tummy the other day for some tummy time and she quickly realized she could take care of that situation on her own now and rolled her self right over. She had done it a few times before but not that quickly. I then rolled her back over on her belly to see how long it would take her a second time and she rolled right over again. I guess she will not be a tummy sleeper when she gets older. I wonder if she will be interested in crawling...she already loves to stand so maybe she will go from sitting to walking :) She's a crazy one and likes to make her own rules.
Grandma Reed bought Haley some books the other day that have different textures of animals. She is still really into feeling everything so she thought this was pretty cool during story time.
We are still feeding her cereal once a day and she is getting much better at it, but its still not her favorite. She loves her bottle! Oh...one of her newest addictions is her "tag blanket" it's a blanket that is about a foot in width and height and is really soft with satin tags hanging off the side of it....she absolutely LOVES this blanket. She must have it to fall asleep now but once you give her a pacifier and her blanket she is out! Thank goodness Aunt Melissa bought this for Haley before she was born. We went out a bought a second one so we have back up now! We made the mistake of washing it while she was trying to take a nap one day...we won't do that again :) She is doing really well with putting herself to sleep at night though. Just make sure she has her blanket and pacifier and she will usually go to bed at 7:30pm each night and sleep till the next morning!

So many new things....

Saturday morning was the big day....we started solid foods and she sat in her highchair! She certainly isn't crazy about the cereal but hopefully in time she will start to enjoy it more. Especially once we start getting to the fruits and veggies! I think the poor girl needs some flavor in her life :) We have found our FEET! Now she won't let go of them. I knew for a while she kept trying to get to them but couldn't quite find them, but now it's feet galore! She does still love her hands though...so she is either holding her feet or trying to eat her hands. Haley is sitting very well in her bumbo seat now and even likes to watch me work or do dishes! Since she was doing so well in her bumbo seat we decided to test out her Exersaucer and she seems to really like it so far. She is still a little wobbly in it so we can't leave her in there without watching her the whole time but I’m sure she is loving her new toy! Her legs couldn't touch the ground while she was in it so we put a pillow under her so she could stand up. Lately Papa Lichtenberg and Grandma Lichtenberg have been watching her and Papa has taken her on a few walks in her Baby Bjorn. She looks pretty relaxed wouldn't you say!!! Oh yeah….and she is just about to roll over from her back to her tummy…only ¼ of the way left to go. If she would just relax gravity would take her but she just hates to be on her tummy so much I think she realizes that’s where she’s headed and stops herself.
Finally Aunt Sheryl isn't sick anymore and was able to come see Haley after over a month! So far she has seen her 3 days in a row! Trying to catch up on lost time! She even helped give her a bath this weekend. Aunt Manace has been over two weekends in a row to see Haley too!
I don't have any pictures to post but Uncle Gary and Aunt Mandy came in town this weekend and babysat Haley for us while we went to a wedding. She went to dinner with them and Grandma Reed and chatted up a storm was what we heard when we got home that night. They did a GREAT job and when we got home that night Haley was sound asleep in her crib. What great Aunts and Uncles Haley has...lucky girl! We are headed to Savannah this weekend for Haley's 1st St. Patty's day parade and to see Aunt Melissa and Uncle Whit! I can't wait to take pictures of Haley in her St. Patty's dress that Aunt Melissa bought for her for the big event!

Time for solid foods!!!

Sorry, i don't have any pictures to post yet but thought i would give everyone a quick update on how Haley is doing. She will be 5 months old next week! Her 4 months shots went great and she was such a trooper! She now weighs 12 lbs 7 oz and is 24 1/2 inches long! She is getting to be a big girl! Actually she is in the 25% in her weight and 50% for her height. 50% is avg so it looks like she will be a petite young lady with normal height! Takes after her mommy there :) Finally!!! At 4 months we started putting 2 baby spoons of cereal in her bottle and WOW has she been sleeping! She takes her last bottle around 5:30pm - 6:30pm and then is awake till about 7:30pm and then she is down for the night! She also likes to try to put herself to sleep now rather than being rocked, etc. You know she is getting tired when she starts to put her hands up above her head, so that's when we lay her down for a nap and she usually squirms and gets herself all set and then falls asleep. Occasionally she can't get her self asleep and then she gets mad so then we will hold her a few more minutes. Also, instead of eating every 3 hours it is closer to 4 hours between feedings. I think we are going to try feeding her the cereal with a spoon Friday night so we will definitely take lots of pictures which i promise to post! It's still so amazing to me how much we love this little girl.....we want to be with her at all times! She still has a little separation anxiety from Clayton and I but we don't mind it too much! I love knowing that she misses me just as much as i miss her. We still sit her in the bed every morning while we get ready and talk to her while she smiles and laughs! Oh yeah.....she finally giggled! It was so cute...we were having baby talk time and making noises and she was just laughing so hard and then she finally giggled rather than just her usual scream/laugh. We love it!
