Yes I realize Noah is going to be so mad at me one day when he’s older and realizes I posted this picture of him on the potty on the internet BUT I will deal with that later J For now I wanted to be sure to blog about the very first time Noah went pee pee in the potty!!! I can hardly believe it and I’m sure that it’s probably just a freak accident however we are so proud of him! He pointed to his diaper earlier this afternoon and I happened to ask him if he needed to go potty and he started walking up stairs. Once we got up there since I was totally unprepared for this event I tried putting Haley’s old Dora toilet seat cover on the big potty and stuck him on there. Well it’s a good thing he didn’t go that time because the Dora seat has a little cover (not removable) to help little girls from peeing out of the toilet which would have caused Noah to pee all over our floor. We brought in the small potty to let him see what it was all about and he loved the idea of sitting on it and acting like he was going to go potty. Anyways after all that we got him dressed and brought him back downstairs. About 30 min later he pointed to his diaper again and Clayton asked him if he needed to go potty. Noah headed back upstairs again to his potty but this time he didn’t make it and went in his diaper. He tried though and we were very proud of him for that. Honestly I had/have absolutely no intentions of attempting to potty train Noah till he was about 2 ½ just like we did with Haley. I want to teach them quickly and then be done with it. After we finished dinner Noah started going up the stairs again and I asked him if he needed to go potty. He walked upstairs into his bathroom and sat down on his potty and completely shocked me as he actually went potty this time! He was so proud of himself as was his big sister!! We told her since she was such a wonderful teacher (she always wants him to go to the restroom with her) that they both got to have some Hello Kitty fruit snacks to celebrate! Thanks Haley for teaching Noah how to use the potty!
Like I said, I really don’t think we’ll be starting the potty training thing anytime soon but I guess we’ll just see what Noah wants to do.
