Time to grow!!

The week before school started Brody went through an extensive 4hr test at his endocrinologist where they used meds (shot) to make him sleepy to see if his body is making enough growth hormone. Apparently you only make this whole sleeping which I guess is another reason to make sure you get enough sleep as a kid! After 5 blood draws over the 4hrs we finally got to go home. Had to wait 2 weeks for results which are now back. They showed he failed 4 out of the 5 tests (meaning he wasn’t making enough those 4 times) but one of the tests he just barely hit 11 and 11 and higher is considered a pass. 15 min later his levels were back down to 1 but since the one came back at 11 they have to consider the entire test a pass which means insurance won’t cover his meds. UGHHHH  

Brody did AWESOME through all of this and is one TOUGH kid to tolerate all of this! He had two separate blood draws leading up to this appt about 2 wks apart. 

So now he doesn’t qualify for the weekly growth hormone shots, we have to do daily and we have to pay cash for it. Nothing like a quick $1000 a month for these meds and even worse for Brody a shot every single night! The first 4 nights were brutal and full of tears and he was scared as any of us would be! By the 5th night Brody was so BRAVE and when I said he had 5 min until it was time he said “can we just go ahead and do it?” He walked over gave me a big hug and we quickly did the shot in his arm. We have to rotate the location each night so we typically do the two thighs and arms. 

Koda has been Brody BIGGEST SUPPORTER during all of this!!!

All State PG Tournament!

Individual players from all over GA come together for a weekend of evals and tournaments! Noah loves these types of tournaments! This time it was in the 100’s and it was HOT!!!

Best friends and friends from school all at the same tournament but mostly different teams! So fun!

Camp Woodlands for Haley and Noah!

One night of sleep at home after our beach trip and then Haley and Noah were off to camp Woodlands!! 

Haley got to go with the cousins again and Noah went with his buddy Tate! Luckily they both were old enough for teen camp so they all got to be there the same week together! 

Spotted these two together =D






None of us really liked both of them being gone for so long! The house was way to quiet and we missed being together as a family but we also knew God was working big things in their hearts! 

Poor Koda and Noble were missing them also!
