Pre race: Luckily the guys had a friend that works for Dos Equis and he sponsored us with these cool shirts!
Just to get to the start line you had to jump our first wall: Up and Over!
Here are a few of the obstacles:
First up after a 2 mile run was Kiss of Mud! Don't touch the wires!
Ok let's run!
Next up Skid Marked: this was actually the side to get down. The other side was at an incline the opposite way so you had to have a boost to catch the top of the wall and pull yourself over to this side and get down.
Run!
Next was pitfall but I don't have a picture.
Run!
King of Swingers! This one was SCARY!!! Not only were you already high up and all wet and muddy with soaking wet nasty shoes but now you have to jump 2.5-3 ft out to hopefully catch this bar and then swing down over the water, propel yourself even higher at the height of your swing and hit the bell! Either way you have to drop into this beautiful mud pit of water.
Pull yourself out on the otherwise and start running again!
Mud mile 2.0: this one was hard but fun and just required team work and a system! Slide down into mud stomach deep water and don't stand long or your feet will sink in the mud. Then have some one boost you by your foot to the top of the mud hill! We would also pull people up once at the top and then slide back down the next one and repeat 5 times or so. This was us at the start coming out of our run!
Time to run again after attempting to squeeze some of the mud and water out of our shoes which was impossible!
Bale of Bonds and Quagmire were up next just before the human Pyramid wall!
I'm almost there! Thank goodness for this wall here it was sooo slippery!
Let's go! Carried each other for 150 yards through the hero carry!
Now time for the funky monkey bars!! I was shocked I actually made it through both transitions of the swinging bars but then fell into the water about 1ft from the very end :-(
Birth canal (which was more awkward than I thought that one was going to be) and then the cage crawl!
Next up the liberator! This one wasn't too bad a was nice staying dry for a minute ;-)
Balls to the wall...
Devils beard where you had to crawl through mud under a huge net.
Somewhere in here they threw in the back stabber obstacle where you climbed up this vertical wall with one peg!
Blockness monster which was actually pretty fun! Had to climb over these huge rolling blocks in about 3.5 ft water! Team work required on that one!
Mount Everest: she was a SCARY one!!!! All you can do here is run like the wind as fast as you can and when you get near the top jump for the top or someone's hands if anyone is there. We had 1 lonely guy waiting up there when we arrived to help us. If you miss the top you slide all the way back down that wall on your face and out onto the ground...ugh I did NOT want to miss!! I ran like crazy and thank God made it the first attempt!
Whew now that Mount Everest and King of swingers were done I felt like I was good to go the rest of the event!!
Next was cliff hanger where you literally ran up a huge cliff and caught a big netted rope that was hanging down and climbed the rest of the way up the cliff.
Time to run to the Berlin Wall...this one was a trick, when you finally made it over the wall we turned around just to find another exact same wall :-O You had to do it TWICE!
Ok here comes the very last two obstacles....Arctic Enema (ice bath) and Electroshock therapy :-O!!! All mental grit here...
The ice bath was brutal!!!! Had to slide down a tarp behind a fence which forced you under water under a price of wood and then when you pop your head up your entire body is almost frozen, hard to breathe but there is a piece of wood ahead of you that you must pull yourself over then back into the ice pool and swim/hop the rest of the way out!!! Sooo cold and my feet stung like crazy!!!
Time to run and warm up for the last 3/4 mile to electroshock therapy and the Finish Line!!!
Please don't shock my face!
FINISHED!!!!! Sooooo much fun I would do it again this weekend!!
We cleaned up a little with cold hose showers and changed before this picture!
