I know that I am WAAAaayyy behind on my posts but HOLY COW do I feel like my entire life is testing me........the kids are at an all time challenge and of course this is during Clayton's busiest time at work so he's been working late almost every single night while the kids put me to the all time test of juggling work during the day and them at night! I'm sure the kiddos sense my frustration and weakness and just feel the need to test my patience but goodness, I'm beyond ready for this challenge to be up. I'm EXHAUSTED to say the least. Let me start my post back at Christmas when things were still SUPER busy but they were fun busy! I will then attempt to catch everyone up on January and February activities.

Finally made it to the cabin for the Polar Express!

Roasting marshmallows and making s'mores at the cabin |
Polar Express was just as much fun as we had imagined it was going to be! The kids loved every minute of it as well as the adults J The house that we rented had 8 bedrooms which was setup like a hotel so we each had like our own hotel room with bathrooms, etc! This was a perfect setup with one little caveat…….you had to walk outside to get to your rooms….BRRRR! Truthfully I don’t think we would have it any other way as it worked out perfectly when it came to bedtime for the kids because they literally couldn’t hear anything from the rooms and the adults could enjoy the nights kid free! We all need a little adult time occasionally!

Christmas Eve with Great Grandma! |
 |
Noah's Big Wheel! |
This Christmas will probably go down as one of my most favorite ones! There isn’t one specific thing in particular that made it so special but it was just the combination of all the events, the kids ages/excitement, Family time, etc that made it so wonderful this year! Christmas Eve started off with our usual visit to Starbucks! There’s really no better way to start a morning off than great company and a stop at Starbucks. Before the afternoon Christmas Eve church service we were able to visit Great Grandma and the kids were able to help her open up all of her gifts. Since our usual church didn’t have a Christmas Eve service we went to our old church that Clayton and I actually went to as kids…..how crazy is that?!? The kids didn’t really understand why they weren’t going to Sunday school but they just kept saying that we were going to the “New” church :-) Luckily Mimi, Grandpa, Papa, Grandma, Melissa & Whit were able to keep them entertained enough during the service that they didn’t disrupt too much of it. After church we headed back to our house for dinner and presents with Grandma & Papa. I absolutely love this video of the kids opening up Noah’s “big wheel”! Just before the kids headed off to bed we put out our cookies that we had made for Santa earlier that day and a glass of chocolate milk! Haley says that Santa’s favorite milk is chocolate milk just like her ;-) The very last thing to top off our Christmas Eve was Papa reading the “Christmas Story” book to the kids that he and Noah had bought together! As I rocked Noah to sleep that night he kept saying “Santa’s coming, Santa’s coming!”

Haley's pancakes that she
made and decorated! |
When Noah woke up Christmas morning he stood up in his crib and said “Santa’s coming……santa’s coming!” He and Haley were both SOOooooo excited to go downstairs and see what all Santa had left them! The very first thing they noticed was that Santa had eaten their cookies, drank the chocolate milk, wrote them a letter AND left them each a bell as he’s done for the past few Christmases! Luckily this year Haley was well prepared and understood that Goo Goose (our Elf on the shelf) would be gone in the morning as he flies back home with Santa on Christmas morning. Last year she was all upset that he was gone L Before Goo Goose flew back with Santa he left the kids one last surprise and made a snow angel out of pancake mix and left Christmas cookie cutters out for the kids to make and decorate their own pancakes on Christmas morning!! What a clever little Elf ;-) Christmas morning was actually very relaxing! A big change for our family as typically it’s a race from one event to the next. We were able to enjoy our pancakes, a couple cups of coffee and watch the Disney World and Disney Land parades on TV! After Noah’s nap we drove up to Mimi and Grandpa’s house for our usual Christmas dinner with the whole family! Over the next couple of days ALL of my brothers, sisters, nieces and nephew came into town and we were able to capture 1 BIG family picture THANKS to Corey!! J Crazy to think this is just the immediate family in this picture! Baby Madi is still in Melissa’s belly too so by April we’ll have one more to add to the crew J
