3rd round of shots

This picture explains it perfectly.....Noah's soooo over all these shots!!! He's sad, mad, and hurting......he ended up having to get the 3rd round of shots in his legs again today :-( It was so sad, he started screaming when i just put him down on the table. He knew exactly what to expect this time. Dr. said she couldn't guarantee that even this 3rd round was going to clear up the infection but we will go back next week for another check up. They won't do anymore than the 3 rounds so no reason to go back tomorrow. We have scheduled our ENT consultation for 10/18 so hopefully we can get him cleared up enough that we can just go ahead and get the tubes put in before winter gets here and these things get really bad. I feel like we've done all the oral antibiotics and the full 3 rounds of the shots so not sure what else they could do if he was to get more ear infections in the upcoming winter months. That's my main reason for wanting to move quickly with the tubes. Noah is drinking and eating better so I know that his ears have got to be getting better even if it's not completely healed. He enjoyed another day at home with Papa and went for a nice long walk in his stroller and was able to enjoy this beautiful weather we've been having! Thank goodness for Papa and Grandma!!!!! Just like always they drop absolutely everything and are right over to help us out and take care of our kids regardless of what they have! Can't thank them enough, we are so lucky!!

Round two of Antibiotic shots....

As I mentioned previously Noah’s on his 6th double ear infection in 5 months so the Dr. tried a really strong antibiotic shots in his legs yesterday to see if that would clear it up and we had to go back this morning to check them and get our ENT referral. His ears were a little bit better but Dr. said we needed to do another round of shots to see if that would clear it up. We have to go back again in the morning to check them again and possibly get a 3rd round of the shots. Three is the most that they will do I believe. Praying we can stop at just two shots though, we already did the oral amoxicillian and omnicef. Noah does seem to be drinking his bottles better the past two days though! Still not great but hey anythings better than this past weekend so I know that the meds are working. He is also having a great time playing with Grandma and Papa and showing them how he can pull himself up on everything now! Hopefully tomorrow's check up goes well and he's all clear and we can get to the ENT before the next set of ear infections. Noah knew exactly what to expect today when the two nurses walked back into the room and he was NOT happy! He's a tough boy though and as soon as I picked him up and walked out of the room he was good. Here's another picture of Noah after his shot while we wait in the waiting room for 20 minutes to make sure he has no reactions to the medicine. Poor baby!

Haley's 2nd Soccer Game and Noah's Dr. visit

Good news first.....Haley's starting to come out of her shell just a little bit at soccer. During practice she scored a goal every time she took a shot at it....GO HALEY!!! Now, we've just got to get her to want to be near the ball during the games...hehe. It's so funny to see her expression if the ball some how ends up at her feet in the middle of the game. Her look is "really?!?! I'm the only one out here basically TRYING to stay away from the ball and some how it ends up at my feet! How is that possible??" HAHA It's too funny! Go Tigers!

Noah's Dr. visit today confirmed that he does have a 6th double ear infection in 5 months :-( Poor baby!!! Noah probably can't even remember a day when his ears didn't hurt him. It got pretty bad over the weekend and Noah wouldn't drink hardly anything at all. He normally would drink 25oz a day and it was all we could do to trick him into drinking about 6 or 7oz for the entire day. He's supposed to be having wet diapers at least every 6 hours and he was having tiny wet diapers about every 10-12 hours!! I was very nervous that he was getting too dehydrated but we had tried EVERYTHING we could think of. We tried milk, water, pedialyte, apple juice in bottles, sippy cups, cups with no lids, syringes (so we could just squirt the liquids in his mouth) but NOTHING worked. Noah would hold his lips closed so tight and turn his head back n forth. It was horrible. We finally got him to drink just a little bit of water out of a cup with no lid and then just when i was started to feel good about it he cough and threw all the water back up!! UGH....so then we had to start all over again.....we ended with a popsicle. He wasn't too excited about the popsicle either but he was willing to eat some of it thankfully! Of course telling my mother in law this later she quickly mentioned giving him ice chips as she has given Noah those before and he loves them!!! Ah, what a great idea.....why didn't we call her over the weekend??? So of course she came to stay with him today while I was working and he ate those ice chips up! YAY! Next time we'll be calling Grandma for some more suggestions :-) At the Dr. visit today Noah got a really strong antibiotic shot in both of his legs that supposed to be pretty painful for 24hrs but should work to clear up his ears quickly! We go back tomorrow morning for a follow up to make sure it worked. We are also going to be discussing tubes tomorrow morning. Of course I'm very nervous about putting Noah under for this surgery but then again i think of how much better he is going to feel afterwards and think that it's gotta be worth it, right?!?! I'll try to post another update tomorrow after the visit.

Noah's 9 Month FSU Pictures!!!

Here they are.....
I have been waiting to post these on the blog for a couple weeks now until the fleece FSU blanket that we surprised Papa and Grandma with had arrived!! Corey did another great job and snapped some really cute pictures of Noah in his FSU gear! I made a collegiate FSU fleece blanket on snapfish and put these pictures on there. Of course we got one for ourselves as well! I didn’t even think about bringing Haley with me when I got Noah's FSU pictures so I had to snap one myself to add to the blanket. I’m obviously not a photographer nor have the best camera but Haley sure knows how to do the typical cheerleader pose :-)

Here's the link to all the pictures that Corey took for us!! THANKS again Corey!http://gallery.me.com/coreyjohnson6/100457

Quick update on Noah.....since the ER scare with the low body temps Noah had been doing better for a couple of days and then had another double ear infection (2 days after we finished the antibiotics). Now we are on day 9 out of 10 days on round two of antibiotics for his 5th double ear infection and we woke up to him running a FEVER this morning!!!! Can you believe it?!?! This poor guy is either freezing or sweating.....man we aren't even off the meds yet and I'm pretty sure he has another ear (double?) infection :-( I'm going to see how he is in the morning and if he's still running a fever we'll be heading back to the Dr. UGH..... I hate that he has had 5 double ear infections in 5 months and likely is on his 6th one....but i guess we'll confirm tomorrow if it is ears or teething. Noah's still our happy little guy though....love him so much! Big Sis Haley has been a great nurse to baby brother though and is always trying to make him laugh! They have so much fun together!

Noah's first hair cut by Daddy! It's a little short and I'm still trying to get used to it but all in all it's not too bad. Noah of course still HATED the experience.

Haley had her very first soccer game this past weekend! Not exactly the fairest line up....can you spot our little Haley...LOL (2nd one...#10)! She's supposed to be 4 yrs old to play on this team but since she has an Oct. b-day the directors of the organization (I9 Sports) let her play. Most the kids on her team are 4 1/2 and some are even 5 1/2 so she's by far the youngest on the team and clearly the smallest.....BUT I'm hoping that she'll learn even faster for the others and become one heck of a soccer player :-) Thanks Sher Sher, Papa and Grandma for coming out to support Haley at her first big game! BTW Noah sure loves his Sher Sher....i think he still doesn't realize that there is two of us...HAHA! As soon as she walks up even if I'm holding him he reaches out to her to hold him, so cute!

Sick and STILL HAPPY!

This boy surprises me everyday how happy he is even when he is sick! Definitely gets that from his mommy and not daddy :-) He's been one happy boy for the few times that he's been awake today. Sleeping like crazy, still pale and won't drink much but he can smile and giggle like you wouldn't believe! Love this little man! Big Sis Haley has been a great little mommy/nurse to Noah too!

Better night last night

Ah....we finally got a little bit of sleep last night! Noah's temp stayed at 96.0 through out the entire night! We checked his temp every 1 1/2 to 2 hours last night so it was MUCH better and we actually got to sleep! As you can see from the pictures he's still more pale than his usual color and is more tired for sure but I'm sure both of those have a lot to do with his hemoglobin being low. That's my guess anyways. He usually drinks 24 ounces of milk a day (4 - 6oz bottles) but he's still not drinking anything close to that, yesterday he had only drank 6oz by the time we put him to bed but while he was sleeping we were able to get him to drink another 5oz for a total of 11oz for the day. I wouldn't recommend feeding your baby while they are sleeping in their bed but in order to keep him hydrated so that he can fight this off that's what we did. Of course we tried offering his sippy cup, etc with water but he wasn't interested in that. The best news is that Noah doesn't appear to be getting any worse and in fact seems to be staying a bit warmer so I'm very hopeful that we are on the up hill of this sickness and can enjoy our 3 day holiday weekend! Thanks to Papa and Grandma for taking such great care of him yesterday and keeping me updated every hour :-) They have been spending every minute of their free time over here with this little guy! Thanks to all our friends and family too for checking up on Noah and offering to come help, etc. This just shows what wonderful friends and family we have!

Noah update

Last night was a teeny tiny bit better than the night before. Noah continued to stay at 96 temperature during the day yesterday and when I put him to bed last night. We took his temp about every hour once he went to sleep and of course right around 10pm it started to drop again. The ear thermometer was starting to register “Low” and 93 and 94. We started the usual process of warming up blankets, ski hat and got him out of his bed and wrapped him up and Clayton held him in the rocking chair hoping to get him warm. We did this for about an hour or hour and a half while taking his temp about every 30 minutes. Poor guy was actually sweating like crazy but when you touched his face, etc it was still cold and his temps were still low. Noah just couldn’t warm up. Temp did finally start to come up to around 96 again later in the night so then we just continued to take his temp every 45min to an hour depending on how the last one registered. At least we were able to lay in the bed a little bit last night but definitely not much sleeping going on. After each temp reading I would lay in bed and think about all the other temps and try to determine what I needed to do if anything. You know……..worried about everything like any other Mother would when her baby is sick! Last temp was taken just a few minutes ago and is reading from Papa was at 96; so again we’ll just see how the day goes and take it minute by minute. Since he was keeping a 96 temp today I decided to still come into the office but Papa has been doing a wonderful job taking care of Noah and sending me pictures and temp updates every hour! Of course if his temps start to decrease i'll be heading back to the house.
