Where Dreams Come True...

Haley's first trip to Walt Disney World! The whole family went to Disney World to celebrate Mimi's Birthday! Haley talked about this trip for weeks before we even went saying every day that she was going to go see Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Duck (aka Donald Duck), Pluto, Goofy and Snow White! We schedule breakfast with the Characters so we could make sure she saw all of them and saw Shamu at Sea World. Melissa, Mimi, Gary, Mandy, Macy and Makayla all came to breakfast as well. Haley loves all the Disney characters and as some of you may remember she got a Snow White and Cinderella baby dolls for Christmas this year and we told her she could go see the real ones in a month. Well her count down was on! 2 years old seems a little young to some to take to Disney World but I wouldn't change a thing. Haley had such a wonderful time seeing all the characters and especially riding all the rides that I think this was a great year to start this hopefully annual tradition. Haley's very first ride was the train from the parking lot into the park and everyday that was one of her top rides. We could always cheer her up when leaving the parks each day by asking her if she wanted to go on a train ride again. Her first true ride at Magic Kingdom was Dumbo! Every ride that she saw in the park she would say "I ride that!" She's still a little too short to ride any of the crazy ones but she's definitely going to be one of those girls that loves the flipping and twisting roller coasters....(notice already doing the no hands thing). Her 2nd ride in Magic Kingdom was Smallworld, and as you can see by these videos she was eating it up!
She kept turning around to Mimi and Grandpa to make sure they weren't missing anything. We rode this one a couple of times and every time she was in heaven! I was able to take a video while Haley and I rode the Astro Orbiter together which is a ride that sits on top of a second story building and then they raise you higher into the air....Haley kept talking about it all day after that!
Another favorite was the Disney show where they did a clip from Disney's Mickey Mouse club house, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and Winnie the Pooh...all of Haley's favorites! So to all those parents out there thinking about whether 2 yrs old is a good age to take them to Disney, I'd say yes! I know that she probably won't remember the trip herself but Clayton and I will and we have all the pictures and videos to show her as she gets older. Haley was also able to share Mimi's birthday trip to Disney with her Aunts and Uncles and cousins Reganne, Riley, Macy, Makayla and Conner! All the grandkids were able to make it down for the big trip and I believe that they all had a great time. Macy and Makayla seemed to enjoy all the lights, music and the merry go round. Conner liked the Pirates of the Caribbean (such a boy) ride the best, while Riley claim the bus (train) ride was her favorite :) Reganne was non committal and said that every ride was her favorite. I really think that she just enjoyed seeing all the Princess's and having lunch with them the best. Haley loved seeing all the characters but she was not much of a Princess fan. Seeing them was a bit intimidating but a few minutes later she saw Mickey and Minnie and was all smiles! Haley was a HUGE Reganne fan though and wanted to be everywhere she was and wanted to sit by her on all the rides. Haley would also tell us in the car that she was going to show Reganne her stickers when we met up with them. It was very cute!
To top off the Disney theme here is the link to Sheryl's blog where she has pictures of the Mickey/Minnie cake that she made for Mom which was perfect for her Disney themed Birthday Party. If anyone is in need of a cake, truffles, cupcakes, etc I highly recommend her :-)
We drove down Tuesday night after work and stayed in Disney until Sunday morning hitting up at least one park a day and most days we went to two parks getting in around 11pm each night and up at 7am. We all felt like we needed another vacation from the Disney trip but it was a great trip! As we strolled into the driveway after being on the road for over 8 hours Haley was still a happy road warrior! Most of you probably know that the trip to Orlando really should only take about 7 1/2 hours but due to SEVERAL bathroom stops with little one sitting in the back saying "I pee peed" we finally made it home :) It was quit a crazy, stressful and exhausting trip but it was a lot of fun and most importantly Mimi had a great Birthday Celebration in Disney and at Bubba Gumps where we had the official Birthday dinner :)

Just a few video's from the Holidays

We rang in the New Year with Haley waking us up at 3am New Year's Day after she got sick in her bed. I swear that was the grossest thing that I have ever had to clean up. I know that's a lot of detail by saying just that but if you have seen Four Christmas's you know exactly what I mean. To top it off Haley so generously passed that flu to Me, Papa and MaMa. Thank God Clayton was able to dodge it but it was no way to ring in the New Year so we are going to do a better job of it next year! Any ways below are a few videos that I wanted to share with everyone from the Holidays. Enjoy!

Christmas Morning!

I love it :-)
