18 Month Update

Well our 18 month check up didn't go quite as well as we hoped! Haley is doing great developmentally wise so we are very happy and grateful about that however she didn't even gain an ounce! In fact she actually lost an ounce from her 15 month to her 18 month check up :( She did grow almost 1 inch and her head is continuing to grow so she is doing fine in those aspects. Her 18 month check up had the following stats: weight 18.51/2 (Off the charts again), Height 30 3/8 (25%), Head 181/2 (25%). Other than the weight issue the Dr. said she looked great!!! Haley is talking up a storm and is saying about 75-80 words now! She cracks us up because Clayton and I will be talking and all of a sudden she'll just start repeating what we are saying....we have to be careful what we say now because she's like a parrot!
Haley had her first boat ride for the season a couple of weekends ago! Clayton mentioned the boat and she wouldn't stop saying "boat" so then we put her life jacket on her to see how she would do and she seemed fine so we headed to the docks where Haley saw ducks and fish! Haley did so good! It wasn't a very nice day but we were able to go for a quick ride before it started raining that day. I thought she was going to get scared when we started going fast but she actually raised up her hands and said "whoooh" with a huge grin! She's going to be a lake girl for sure and a little dare devil! Thank goodness her aunt Miss (which Haley can say now) loves roller coaster rides too! Speaking of names my Mom, Sheryl and I were showing her pictures this past weekend to see if she could name everyone and every time we pointed to Sheryl in a picture she said "momma"! We tried to tell her that she was "Sher" and I was "momma" but she wasn't quite understanding it. Even if i was standing next to Sheryl in the picture we were both "momma". It was so funny! Eventually after lots of practice Sheryl became "Momma Sher" :) ......close enough! She can also say Gary (Uncle Gary) now and loves to point and say "airplane" since most of Gary's pictures have an airplane in the background.
Haley's first Cinco De Mayo party was at Taco Mac! Not exactly a Mexican place but we thought we'd avoid the crowd and still eat our chips and salsa :) We had a great family night!
This weekend is Sheryl's bachlorette party in ATL and then the following weekend it's off to Hawaii for the big Wedding!!! We are so excited and of course will post several pictures! This will be the first time Haley's feet touch sand....i hope she likes it!

Happy Easter!

Haley is becoming quite the little ham these days! She absolutely LOVES getting attention and is such a girly girl! She likes to walk around with her bracelets on and has to show them to everyone, including Kylah :) I'm sure Kylah is just loving this :(

Easter was so much fun this year! Haley really enjoyed hunting for eggs....i think we have had to hide them over 100 times! Haley's first Easter egg hunt was at school the Friday before Easter. She usually stays at home with Grandma and Papa on Fridays however i didn't want her to miss the egg hunt so she went to school for about 2 hours that morning and then once the egg hunt was done i brought her back home to spend the day with Grandma and Papa. Thank goodness they were here to watch her because all she wanted to do the rest of the day was look for Easter eggs, so they did several Easter egg hunts with her on Friday in preparation for Sunday's big Easter egg hunt at Aunt Sheryl's house! Thank you to Grandma and Papa for Haley's Easter outfit! We are going to take it to Hawaii with us too :)
Haley received her first Easter basket from Great Grandma and Grandpa (Ma and John). Of course she read the card to us...haha. Ma and John always send Haley cards with some green to feed her pig and i really think she is starting to understand what this means. She seems so proud when she gets to feed her pig! Oh I almost forgot to mention, Haley even got to color on her own Easter egg this year!

This picture is from our trip to Charlotte where Haley decided to show us how quickly she could stand up and sit down on the stairs while singing some sort of song! I thought this picture was so funny!

Speaking of our trip to Charlotte, it went Great! Great Aunt Sally (who needs to send me pictures of her and Haley from her camera) was in town and was able to make the trip to Charlotte with us. In fact between Sally, Sheryl and Mimi Haley had a great car ride and was entertained the entire way! Thank goodness the 3 of them didn't mind reading Haley books, feeding her lunch, singing songs, etc for 4.5 hours! Haley quickly warmed up to Sally the first night she was in town, which is a huge step for Haley since she is always pretty leery of people she doesn't see very often. Speaking of, she is really getting used to her Aunt Melissa and Uncle Gary even though they don't live in ATL! She loves playing and reading books with them.
