Christmas 2009!

Our holiday's are not over yet but wanted to give everyone a quick update.....Christmas and Santa was a HUGE hit this year! Haley loved every minute of it and continues to enjoy it everyday while we have several relatives in town! I know she's getting so spoiled and I'm not sure what she is going to think when she wakes up soon and doesn't have any presents to open :) Thanks to JoAnn we finally got our tree up about a week ago! Although she was still very sick from the cold that Haley so generously passed along to everyone she still came over and decorated our tree for us! She always does such a great job so Clayton and I have made her our personal tree decorator every year! While she was decorating the tree Sher Sher came over and helped Haley and I make/eat Christmas cookies. We had such a great time and look forward to making this a tradition. Here are a few pictures from Christmas Eve, which we started our day off at our usual tradition....Starbucks! Oh and Haley now recognizes the Starbucks sign and says "Starbucks"! Mimi is so proud :) We topped off Christmas Eve with dinner and TONS of gifts at Mama and Papa's house and then we were all off to Christmas Eve church service as one big huge family. After church we rushed Haley home so that she could play with her new toys for just a little bit and then she had to get into bed for Santa's big arrival!

Haley slept till about 7:15am Christmas morning and Clayton and I were anxiously waiting for her to wake up to see what Santa had left her. As you can see from the pictures below she loved all of her gifts and even said "I love it" when she opened up a few of her gifts! After we opened all our gifts Christmas morning we got ourselves together and headed up to Mimi's house to get things ready for the big Christmas dinner with Mimi, Grandpa, Mama, Papa, SherSher, RyRy, Miss, Whit, Mary and Bob all joined us. We had a wonderful time with everyone and Haley really enjoyed playing with everyone!

The day after Christmas Ma and John, Gary, Mandy, Macy and Makayla all came into town to celebrate Christmas again! Gary flew Mandy, Macy and Makayla to ATL and since Haley LOVES airplanes we had to take her to go watch them come in and even snapped a few pictures of her in the airplane! We spent the evening opening more gifts and enjoying every one's company. Everyone is still in town and I am continuing to snap more pictures so I'll try to post another update soon but the Holidays are going great and we are so blessed to be able to spend it with our family.

An Overdue Update

I know I know....I'm a slacker! What can I say? Things are crazy around here and even more nuts with a 2 year old! I still can't believe that Haley's 2 already but we are loving every moment with her. She's truly an amazing little girl and we are thankful for so many things but she is certainly at the top of our list!
So to catch you guys up on things Haley and I have made lots of Christmas goodies. These were our practice cookies so they got to be whatever color Haley wanted :) She loved every bit of making these cookies. She helped roll out the dough, used the cookie cutters, watching them bake (ever so patiently) and last but not least icing them and decorating them with sprinkles (don't forget the sprinkles)! She actually did a really good job decorating her cookies and any mess she made she was more than happy to lick it off herself :) To top off that rainy day we played with our numbers and sticker books which is one of Haley's favorite things to do these days.
Thanksgiving was absolutely wonderful and we were so Thankful to be with our family during the holiday. We also got to be with Macy and Makayla for their 1st Thanksgiving! Slidell is thankful for Haley always feeding him :) The day after Thanksgiving Mom, Melissa, Sheryl and I all got up really early to start our black Friday shopping at 3am. We mapped out exactly what we wanted and where we needed to go the night before so we were at each store right when they opened. We had such a great time and completely filled up my Yukon with so much stuff that we had to put some of it in Sheryl's car after she dropped off some of her gifts. It was crazy but so much fun! We can't wait to do it again next year. After 10 hours of shopping we met up with everyone for some lunch and then Haley got to do a little black Friday shopping herself :)
We went home and crashed that night but we topped off our weekend by taking everyone to the nights of lights at Lake Lanier Islands! Haley loved it and she especially enjoyed having Miss and Whit ride with her. She kept saying "look Miss" to Melissa. She didn't want her to miss a thing! At the end of the light show we stopped to roast marshmallow's, drink hot chocolate and Haley's favorite......the merry-go-round! She loved riding on her pink pony! We were even able to snap a few pictures of Haley, Macy and Makayla together.

We finally took Haley to get her picture taken with Santa!!! She was all excited about going to see him and could hardly wait in line but when we finally got up there and it was her turn to sit on his lap she wanted nothing to do with it. Figures huh? We did end up getting a pretty cute picture of her though, but you have to wait till after Christmas to see it since we are giving that to Mimi, Grandpa, Papa and MaMa as one of their gifts :)

They did it again! Last week Haley was sick yet again and she had a REALLY bad cold which we all ended up with (and some of us still have), pink eye and an ear infection! Poor girl, I know she was feeling really bad because we all just had the cold and I swear it was the worst cold i've ever had. Thankfully MaMa and Papa were able to watch her again during the week and Mimi took her to the Dr. for Clayton and I so we didn't have to miss work. What great family we have....and that's why you always want to live close to the Grandparents :) THANK YOU!!!

Last weekend we all headed to Charlotte for Makayla and Macy's dedication. They did so good during the whole thing and look how proud Makayla looks when her Dad introduced their family! As usual Haley loved visiting with her cousins and is really enjoying the girls now that they can sit up with her. Sally gave all of the girls their Christmas gifts this weekend while she was in town and Haley's favorite gift was the peanuts that came in the box.....we should have known. Aunt Mandy even made her a peanut necklace to wear.
My last update is from tonight when Manace came over to catch up since she's now a married lady and give Haley her Christmas present. As you can see by the pictures she was hamming it up for Manace! Look at all those teeth!
My next update will most likely be after Christmas so we want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

A Special Thanks to MaMa and Papa

Haley was sick with a really bad cold and pink eye in both eyes last week. She was out of school for a full week and of course MaMa and Papa were right there to cancel their plans and spend each day with her. I'm sure by the end of the week Haley had tested every bit of patience they had but Clayton and I were so thankful to have them around to always help us out when we need them!
I know that I have told all of you over and over how much Haley looks forward to her Friday's with MaMa and Papa, but I have finally caught it on video! Here is Haley anxiously awaiting MaMa's arrival early Friday morning! You can see from the pictures that from the moment she wakes up we have to start watching out the window...it slowly gets lighter outside in each picture. So that we make sure we don't miss MaMa pulling into the driveway Haley pleads every Friday that she gets to eat her breakfast in the living room so that she can take a bite and then climb back up on the stool to anxiously wait! Now the big moment....MaMa has arrived! I love that video :) Papa typically comes over a little later in the morning and then they all head out for lunch and quality time shopping, park, etc.
The big day finally arrived for Manace and Jason...the newly weds both looked Beautiful and Handsome and the whole weekend went off with out a hitch! Friday night was the rehearsal and dinner and then Saturday we headed to the hair salon and then off to the church to patiently wait for the big moment when Manace was able to walk down the isle to join hands with her Husband! Haley was able to keep us entertained for a while and she was full of kisses that day! We are so happy for Manace and Jason...that have always been meant for each other. Congrats to the newly weds!
Haley is becoming quite the pro at being a flower girl...maybe we'll start selling her services along with Mimi's Candelabra's business :) (website not yet completed). Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of her walking down the isle but I did get to watch her and she did great! Since I was a bridesmaid Clayton and I sent her off down the isle to take her basket to Mimi who was at the other end waiting to trade her tag blanket and M&Ms for her basket full of flowers...works every time! Thanks to Mimi and Melissa for getting her dressed and ready that day! Later that night Manace, Mim, MaMa and Haley all had a great time on the dance floor and Clayton was able to have another Father/Daughter dance. Haley had her first boy get down on his knees for her....and she completely ditched him :( I guess we'll have to teach her some manners but I must say her Dad, Papa and Grandpa were happy to see it!
Recently we have had several fall days where Haley has been able to enjoy some of her new Birthday presents! She loves her new Car that Sheryl and Ryan gave her and already knows how to use it...they learn fast these days. She also got to go for a ride on her new tricycle from Gary, Mandy, Macy and Makayla! She can't quite reach the petals yet but she loves for us to push her up and down the street on it...i think she feels like a big girl. Thanks Sis for the adorable Minnie Mouse outfit that Haley is wearing! Thanks to Haley's new doll from Russell and Brandon Haley is almost ready to start cheering!
Papa, MaMa and Grandpa have all had Birthday's lately and Haley has taken the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to all of them. I only captured one on video but note that they all heard it :)
Even though it was cold and rainy Haley loved trick or treating and I think she would go every night if we would let her. She would say trick or treat just before they opened the door and then she wouldn't say ANYTHING! She just held out her bucket and hoped for the best. Haley got to go to her first haunted house....I think she liked it...haha! I did snap a picture of all of Haley's body guards...I don't think anyone was going to mess with her that night! Kobe was there to sniff out the candy :) After trick or treating we were off to Sher Sher and RyRy's house to help hand out candy to the kids and their Halloween Party! Haley had such a great time hanging out with RyRy and Sher Sher and she even got her very own Halloween basket from them too!

Happy 2nd Birthday Haley!

Our little cupcake turned TWO on 10/24/2009! Much like Haley our party was very sweet! I can't believe Haley has been apart of our lives for two years already! I can't even imagine our lives with out her! Haley is the highlight of our lives and we love spending every minute with her. Haley's 2 year old stats are as follows: Weight 20lbs and 6 oz (WHOOHOO....she finally hit 20lbs!) She is in the 3% for her weight. Height is 32 3/4 inches (25%) and head is 18 1/4 inches (25%). Dr. said that she looks great and is right on track! Thank God we do not have to do anymore tests on her! She's a happy healthy little 2 year old who LOVES to talk saying at least 200 words and short sentences (2 to 5 words)! Haley can now count to 10 and sometimes 15 with a little assistance and knows almost all of her alphabet letters by recognition not just the song. She's know her colors and shapes for a while but she still likes to practice those! She is really into baby dolls, stuffed animals, and her DVDs (Barney, Brainy Baby, Leap Frog and Little Einstein's). Haley's 2nd b-day part went off with out a hitch! She loved having all her friends and family at the house to celebrate her big b-day. I have given her some cupcakes since the party and every time she thinks we are supposed to sing Happy Birthday :) She'll learn one day but for now we are singing Happy Birthday all the time until all of her cupcakes are gone. Thanks to Aunt Sher Sher for making the wonderful cupcakes to match the theme of the party and the cookie monster cup cakes to put in each of the kids goody bags! Of course Haley loved opening her gifts as she always does (even if it isn't her b-day...lol). Thank you to everyone for coming to celebrate this special day with all of us and for those of you who we celebrated her b-day with earlier. Macy, MaKayla, Russell, Wes and Brandon were all able to attend the bash and I snapped some really cute pictures them! After the party we went to dinner that night and then surprised Mimi by picking her up at the 3-Day and hanging out with her that night so that she could see Haley on her 2nd Birthday! We are so proud of Mimi for walking the 3-Day Breast Cancer walk (60 Miles)!!!! Mimi did so great and didn't even get one blister...she's one fit Grandma :) Throughout the weekend we all tried to stop by and cheer everyone on and support Mimi, Zoe and Lisa in their big accomplishment! The walked started at 7:30am on Friday at Lake Lanier Islands and ended on Sunday at Turner Field in Atlanta! Several of us got up nice and early on Friday to see Mimi off on her journey! Sunday Melissa and I met early to start the cheering!! We went to every cheer station and decorated my car, played loud music, held signs and made shakers to get everyone pumped up! I think it worked :) Sunday afternoon we all gathered in Atlanta for the closing ceremonies! Haley had such a great time with Ma, John, Jimmy, Melissa, Clayton and Taleen and Bryce! We love you Mimi and GREAT job! After the closing ceremonies we all headed out to dinner so that Mom could enjoy a nice meal after all the walking!
Gary, Mandy, Macy and Makayla came into town a few days early and stayed out our house the first night so Clayton, Haley and I got some quality time in with all of them! I got some great smiles out of Makayla and Macy and we loved getting to see them and having them all to ourselves before they headed up to Mom's house for the weekend with everyone else! The girls are getting so big already but both are doing fabulous!
After our crazy weekend we topped the week of with bringing Haley into the office on Wednesday for Trick or Treat for the kids. Our company does this every year and it's always such a hit! The kids love it and of course we all love showing our co-workers our kids since we talk about them all the time! As you can see from the video Haley absolutely loved it and would make us stop at every desk that had a bowl on it to get her some candy. She filled her entire bucket up and we had to empty it out and start again! Haley was super excited to see her friend Slidell made it to the trick or treating event too! Naturally he was the most famous trick or treater there! Haley can't wait to go trick or treating again this weekend, she absolutely loves it!

Our little Frequent Flyer

Haley and I went on our first weekend trip alone and we flew to St. Louis to see our family! I was very nervous about having to travel with all of our luggage (suit case, pack n play, stroller, car seat, diaper bag, book bag full of toys for the plane ride, etc) It was absolutely crazy but Haley was wonderful and acted like such a big girl! Naturally we must look like the prime candidates to be screened going through the airport b/c they decided to pull the two of us aside and go through all our carry on luggage! Like i really had time to high jack a plane with this busy little girl! I must say I am glad that they are checking everyone though, I felt like we were pretty safe. Gary and JoAnn dropped the two of us off at the airport on Thursday night and helped us on our way! I was feeling pretty good by the time we got to our terminal, Haley was doing great and REALLY excited about seeing the airplanes. Of course she thinks Gary fly's all of the airplanes that she sees and Melissa is apparently on all of them too...haha. Once we got to St. Louis Sally and Laney met us at the airport and naturally we headed to Mexican for a big margarita! Haley got sprite...LOL. We ended our night by heading back to Sally and Laney's house where Haley got to play with more pumpkins than she has ever seen in her life. Laney just kept pulling them out for her, she still loves her orange, and now pumpkins. Naturally Haley loves any dogs that she sees too so she was loving all over Jackson and Mike while she was there too. Thank goodness Jackson didn't mind because she seemed to migrate to him a lot.
Friday morning we Haley, Sally and I started our journey to St. Gen to visit Sis, Ma and John. When we arrived they already had toys laid out for Haley so she was in heaven from the minute we got there. She especially loved the Barney puzzles and huge bear, both were huge hits. After playing with all of her toys Haley took about a 2 hour nap which worked out great because then I was able to spend some time visiting with everyone as well. We ended our trip with the famous trip to Sara's Ice Cream shop. This is a must if you ever visit St. Gen, they still have the double ice cream cones that are side by side. Sheryl and I have always loved this place and have gone there since we were kids so I really wanted to make sure Haley got to go there too since she has the same sweet tooth as her Mom and Sher Sher. Unfortunately Sheryl and Ryan were not able to make it to St. Gen with us due to their flight being delayed in Memphis for several hours. They did get to meet up with us for dinner that night though and Saturday morning when we went to the playground with Haley. Ry Ry got in lots of play time with Haley! Saturday morning Sheryl, Ryan, Gary, Haley and I met up with Grandpa and Great Grandpa (Pa) and Sis. Since everyone only gets to see Haley about once or twice a year i wanted them to see her be her normal self and what better place than a play ground? Haley loved the playground and even sat still for just a few seconds so we could snap some pictures with everyone. Saturday night Sher Sher and RyRy got to watch Barney with Haley while we visited with Art, Linda, Rachel, Cory, Sally and Laney. Sorry, I didn't even pull out my camera once that night so i have no pictures to show but I'll snap some the next time we're all together again. Haley and I stayed the night at Art and Linda's house that night and had a great time eating breakfast and hanging out the next morning with them before we headed back to the airport. We had a fabulous visit with everyone and really enjoyed our time but we were happy to get back home to see Dad again. Plus I thought my back was going to break from carrying Haley and all of our junk around all weekend. Clayton met us at the airport and seemed like an anxious little boy waiting for Haley to come running to him. He said he really missed his girls :)

Well football season has officially started and we have our little cheer leader already :) I just love this video of Haley doing her cheer. We took her to one of the high school football games where two of the ladies that Sheryl and I used to cheer with now coach the cheerleaders. Haley had a great time and collected several of her first footballs and a pom pom! She's all set for football season now! For those of you that know this cheer I had to modify the end of it to make it a little easier for her but you get the point.

Haley still goes to school Monday through Thursday and Mama and Papa still watch her on Fridays. We typically ask Haley on Thursday nights "guess who's coming over tomorrow" she knows now and always says "Papa and Mama". All weekend she kept saying that she wanted to go to Mama's house so we took her over there to play with Kobe and Bell and all of her toys over there. Mimi and Grandpa were out of town this weekend so she got to spend lots of time with Mama and Papa. We even took her to the pumpkin patch this weekend where she got to pick out 3 pumpkins. She was all over the place and wanted to go look at everything. We did get to take a few cute pictures of here there. It looks like Haley is 2 1/2 feet tall this fall.

Just before we went on our trip Sher Sher had made Sheryl some cookie monster cup cakes! Haley couldn't believe her eyes when i put this in front of her and told her she could eat the whole thing! I think she thought i was teasing her. She loved it though and especially the icing!

Labor Day weekend, Airplanes and Football....

Haley is now obsessed with Airplanes and of course Gary and Miss (Melissa) are in everyone of them....even the ones on TV :) Gary even did a fly by over Mom and Jim's house...it was so exciting! Sunday afternoon we decided to take Haley down to the airport to see Uncle Gary fly Greg Biffle's plane down for the race and Aunt Miss was along for the ride as well. As you can tell from many of these videos Haley is super excited about seeing Gary and Melissa and she LOVES airplanes!!! Soon she can take start taking flight lessons with Uncle Gary! From watching this clip, i'm not sure anyone would want to ride with her :)

We told Haley before we left where we were going and about 30 minutes into the trip she started waiving out the window and saying "Hi Gary... Hi Miss" when she saw an airplane flying over the highway! We couldn't believe she still remembered where we were going and who we were going to see.

Haley also got to see the 3 fighter jets fly over the Race Track!!! It was quite an evening!

We also had a great time watching all the Football games this weekend! Go FSU....and Go Neers! Of course most everyone knows that Clayton went to FSU so naturally Haley has to cheer them on, but some of you may not know that Aunt Mandy, Uncle Gary, Uncle Jared, and Aunt Tonia all went to Appalachian State University (Mountaineers).
Haley has gone to two birthday parties over the last two weekends! I think she is really starting to enjoy these! Braylen turns 1 on 9/17 and had her 1st b-day party over labor day weekend while everyone was in town. She seemed to really enjoy her watermelon cake and playing with all of her friends! She's such a cutie! This past weekend was Brandon's 1st Birthday party who turned 1 on 8/21! He of course didn't mind getting his hands dirty with his cake and chowed down! Look at those big blue eyes! Following the big bash was his older brother Russell's football game! Russell is #6! It was so cute to watch all of these little kids running all over the field chasing the football! Haley and Brandon had matching home made shirts that Lindsey and I made....that's about as creative as I get :) I must say that Haley's FSU and Neers outfits were homemade as well since it's tough to find things in her size. I love this picture of Haley and Brandon first seeing each other with the same shirts on...it's almost like showing up at Prom and seeing someone else with your dress on...LOL. Haley is one of Russell's biggest fans :)

Ma and John drove all the way from St. Louis to come to ATL for Labor Day weekend! It was so much fun to see them again and Haley really loved playing wtih both of them! We can't wait to see them again at the end of September! Haley even woke up a few mornings specifically asking for "Ma"! With Ma and John being in town Sher Sher (Sheryl) and RyRy (Ryan) were around the family a lot that weekend and Haley got to play and read lots of books with both of them. The first night Haley and Ryan showed up in the same outfits :)
Last but not least.....we have a shopper!!! Haley woke up this past Saturday morning and all she could talk about was going shopping! She really wanted to go so we finally took her to target and bought her her very own shopping cart! She LOVES it and really enjoys pushing it all around the house now. When she's not shopping her 2nd most favorite thing to do these days is to play in her fort that Clayton makes for each night! She thinks it's the coolest thing and brings all of her animals inside to hang out with her! It's actually kind of scary because Sheryl, my cousin Rachel and I were notorious for making forts! We made some really good ones too so we'll have to teach Haley!

Road Trip.....

Haley, Clayton and myself hit the road early Friday evening to head to Charlotte to see Haley's new cousin's Macy and Makayla and of course Gary and Mandy too :) Haley stayed awake the entire 4 hour car ride up there so we did lots of games, playing with toys, eating, and a Starbucks stop to make the car ride more enjoyable. The last hour of the trip Clayton and I gave in and let her watch Barney since we know that's typically how she likes to wind her evenings down. She was very excited to see everyone...including Max and Marley! Saturday we all went to the pool for a while where Haley got to go swimming with Uncle Gary! She loved having him chase her around the pool! Then we took the girls out for their first Sushi dinner....which of course they just loved but I really think that they like their trip to Brusters the best! I know that was certainly Haley's favorite stop! Let's see....yep she still gets the free kids cone! Even a couple states away on our way to get our Ice Cream, Haley still misses Sher Sher and Ryan! Late Sunday morning we started our journey back home and I took several video's of Haley entertaining herself which just cracks me up. She gets pretty creative :).....some of it we could have done without though.

Eventually we did let her watch Barney again, but at least she is learning her fingers!
I'm not sure which story she is reading but it sure sounds like a good one!
Here's what Haley remembers of the weekend!
Gary and Mandy took Macy and Makayla on their first road trip to ATL when they were just two weeks old! They fit right into our family.....we are always on the go :) It was so much fun to see the girls and really get to know each of their personalities! Haley did get a little jealous sometimes when I would try to hold or feed the girls, but she did much better when we went to Charlotte for our trip. She's going to have to get used to the idea that she's not the only little one around anymore. Although a few times she did revert back to her baby life, but I think she was just trying to get some attention. All and all though she did really good and she loves her new cousins!
The weekend just before Gary and Mandy came into town Minnie had her 15 year old Birthday Party!!! Happy Birthday Minnie! Naturally Sheryl and Ryan had a huge bash at their house for the big day and it was all done in Minnie Mouse style :) Sheryl definitely got the creative gene. All of the dogs were invited and they were all treated with mini cup cakes (vanilla of course!) They all went home with goodie bags full of treats, bones, etc. Kylah loved it and I think Haley enjoyed it just as much because it gave her even more dogs to chase! Ryan's nephew Caleb (3 months older than Haley) got to join the big event as well so him and Haley got to do a little catching up. Haley also got to play with Papa too which is nothing new but Haley always enjoys it! She sure loves her family!

Macy and Makayla are here!!!

As many of you know we have all been anxiously awaiting the birth of Gary and Mandy's twin girls Macy and Makayla! Macy & Makayla arrived on August 11, 2009! Macy was first and weighed in at 6lbs 3oz. Makayla made her arrival 53 minutes later and weighed 6lbs 13oz. No, that was not a typo...they are 53 minutes apart! Mandy is one tough lady!!! I think I would have told the Dr.'s Makayla was just going to have to stay in there for a few more days because I would have needed to rest up :) Mom, Dad, Macy and Makayla are all doing great and just trying to get adjusted to their new life style and routines. Of course we were all in the waiting room waiting to see who was going to get the text saying that they were here.....and here comes Melissa running down the hall reading the text to all of us that Macy was here! It was so exciting and then came a picture to my phone of Macy and Mom! Of course we had to pull it up on the computer so everyone could get a good look at the new grandchild/niece. After almost two very long hours we finally found out that Makalya was born as well and that everyone was doing great. We were optimistic that all was going well but I think we all just expected to hear that Makayla was born within a few minutes of Macy. I absolutely love my new nieces and can't wait to see them again! Haley has only seen pictures of the girls but she seems very anxious to get to know them! We are already practicing telling them apart. I'm sure now that she can almost tell Sheryl and I apart that she'll quickly learn how to tell Macy and Makayla apart.
After spending two nights away from Haley we were able to enjoy a full day just to ourselves. I had taken a vacation day from work so Haley stayed home with me and we went on a walk in the morning, read books, played with toys and then headed to the pool for our lunch picnic after nap time and then topped off our afternoon with a popsicle :)
Of course Haley still loves to dance so this morning I put her in her new dress that Sher Sher bought her and she was twirling all around the living room and dancing to her Dr. Jean CD :) It was so cute and I think she really likes her new dress! Like usual we ended our night with our ice cream on the patio before heading inside for bath time, story time and then off to bed!

New Video's!

Here are a few video's to show you what Haley has been up to this past month or so....

Learning our Colors!

Learning our Numbers (sorry, you'll have to turn your head to watch this one...HAHA)

Lot's of fun games with MaMa (this one is called fast fast fast)

So pathetic! She really wanted her balloon!

Ma, John and Honey's "Thinking of you" card and of course a little money to feed her pig (piggy bank)!

I also wanted to post some pictures of Haley's tea party she had Friday with her little friends Russell and Brandon! They were so cute and even put cookies on the plates for us :)

Haley is also learning her ABC's and shapes but I haven't caught her on video yet, maybe on the next post.

I am headed to Charlotte, NC tomorrow (Tuesday 8/11/09) for the birth of Macy and Makayla!!! We are all so excited and can't wait to meet these two little girls! I'll try to do an update as soon as possible so that everyone can see the newest family members! Wish Gary and Mandy luck on their big day tomorrow! Oh....and wish Clayton luck too as he and Haley will be entertaining each other here in ATL while I am away :( I will miss both of them so much but I'm sure they'll have a good time.

Summer Fun

Our trip to Charlotte, NC this weekend was so much fun! The main reason we went up there was to attend Gary and Mandy's baby shower for the twin girls!!! They are almost here...less than a month away :) I think Mandy is hoping it's sooner rather than later! Poor girl...she looks fabulous but of course is feeling very uncomfortable as the end gets near. Our weekend started Thursday night when we started our road trip to Charlotte. Haley had the privilege of having Sher Sher (aka Sheryl) and Grandpa Jimmy entertain her the whole road trip. Sher Sher also made the trip back from Charlotte with us so she got in a lot of special time with Haley! Of course Haley was eating it up! Friday morning we all headed to breakfast by boat. Naturally Haley fell asleep on the way there but was in a great mood and ready to eat when she woke up. After breakfast we saw Greg Biffel's new house on the lake and Haley got to go for a swim in Lake Norman with Miss (Melissa), Gary and Mandy! After the lake we headed to the pool where Haley got some snuggle time in with Mandy and the girls :) It was so cute! Mandy's a natural! Next it was time for Haley's picnic at the pool...she was LOVING the little tike's table! It was just her size!
Saturday night was the night of the Shower which was held at Mandy's Aunt and Uncle's lake house! It was absolutely beautiful and the weather couldn't have been better! Dad and Haley got to throw rocks into the lake and i was able to snap some cute pictures of them! Haley was also able to catch up with her cousin Connor who attended the shower as well! We haven't seen Conner in a year so it was great to finally catch up with him and see how much he has grown. Sorry, my battery had died on my camera so I wasn't able to snap any pictures.
After a fun filled weekend we hit the road nice and early Sunday morning so that we could get home and rest up before starting the week. I did take a few video's on Sunday though :) Our Sunday night entertainment! (Note - all the videos are taking a while to play but they are worth the wait :) of course i'm biased!) Haley is full of energy in this video and recalling her weekend!

To catch up the past few weeks Haley has spent many days at the pool, riding in her wagon, playing catch with her balloons and many days with Ma Ma and Papa Haley loves to feed all of her babies as well as Ma Ma, Kylah and anyone else that walks in the room :)

Miss Independant!

Our precious Haley is growing up by the second! We try not to miss a minute with her and take as many pictures as possible, without being obsessive of course but she is growing up so quickly. The other day she went into the pantry and pulled out her bag of gold fish. Then she carried them into the living room where she proceeded to pull her bean bag out into the middle of the living room floor and plopped herself right down and started eating her gold fish….it was the cutest thing and she knew it! Of course I snapped some pictures! What I did fail to get a picture of was when she found a cheez-it in her bag and she dumped the whole bag over looking for more :( It was all over the carpet! It just gave me a heads up on what to expect in about a year when she realizes that there are toys hidden in the cereal boxes! I have also uploaded a video of Haley's new saying..."bye bye, see you!" It's so cute and she is quite the southern girl :)

We had a great 4th of July weekend where we enjoyed most of our time outside! We went to the pool, lake, firework shows at the lake, walks around the neighborhood while several neighbors were making their own firework shows, chasing bubbles, coloring with chalk on the sidewalk, and almost every night the past couple of weeks have been spent eating our ice cream cones on the patio and of course Kylah gets her fair share :)

A HUGE thank you to Grandma and Papa who came to the rescue last week and watched Haley about 5 days in a row due to pink eye!!! Last Saturday Grandma and Papa were watching Haley while Clayton and I headed to the lake and noticed she was getting some gunk in her eye. It continued through Sunday so Monday morning Grandma took Haley to the Dr. and confirmed that it was pink eye. After being on the medicine for 24 hrs she could have gone back to school however on the Wednesday when she should have been heading back to school she ended up with a fever! It was the never ending story but thankfully Haley has such great grandparents they were able to reschedule their plans for the week and watch her while she was sick so Clayton and I did not have to take off work! By the weekend she was feeling much better other than a nasty cough. Since Haley was at the Dr. already they did a weight check in and at 20 months she is still at 18lbs 6 oz which is exactly what she has weighed since her 15 month check up. She seems to be eating much better but just not putting the weight on but at least she is maintaining her weight and not losing.
Clayton and I were also able to go out for a nice dinner last week to celebrate our 4 yr anniversary while Mimi and Aunt Linda watched Haley all night for us. Yes, we actually let her stay out all night so that we didn't have to be home to early that night since she would get us up at the crack of dawn. Mimi and Aunt Linda said she did great and had a fabulous time chasing all the dogs and playing with all of her toys!
