10 Month Update

Loving her apple juice and so is Kylah :) Haley doesn't like for you to hold her sippy cup for her, we have to put in down in front of her and then she will pick it up on her own and drink out of it. She has become quite the independent little girl! Of course now that Haley has learned how to feed Kylah they have become great buddies! Kylah loves to sit in front of Haley's highchair and wait for her to drop some food. A few new foods that Haley has been eating is cottage cheese (not her favorite by any means) macaroni and cheese, rice or anything else that we are eating and can break off small pieces for her. Oh i almost forgot Haley's two front teeth finally came through so now she has her two bottom and two top teeth!
Haley loves to play with all her toys but especially any orange toys. For some reason she just LOVES her orange toys. We can put several of the exact same toys down in front of her and if one of them is orange that is the one she will grab. I keep trying to tell her pink is her favorite color, but obviously she has her own ideas. Her new favorite game is chase! She loves to either chase us or for us to chase her. She will crawl really really fast cracking up laughing and then when she knows we are going to catch her she gives up and lays flat on her belly and starts laughing. Kylah can even pitch in on this game!
Haley has become quite the explorer lately and is always crawling somewhere. Unfortunately with this comes one more thing for us to worry about which is she has now learned how to climb the stairs :( Ah...but something to offset that is when you pretend like you are going to kiss her she will crawl over to you and actually give you a kiss....it's so cute, we are loving it!

9 Month Update

Wow, how time goes by so quickly! So much has happened in the past month and i haven't had anytime to update the blog. Haley is 9 1/2 months now and weighs 15 lbs and 9 oz and is 28 inches long! We took her for her check up yesterday and the Dr. said she looks great and is acting so much like a toddler even though she really isn't one yet. She crawls around all day saying Momma and Dadda now! We don't have a specific day of when she started saying these because she has been saying them for a while with her tongue sticking out so we didn't count that. She now says them normally so we both kind of agree that she started saying them at the same time. :) She still hasn't taken her first step yet but she is really building up her leg muscles by all the pulling up she is doing. She will keep going up and down on the couch until her legs are about to give out! She's crazy! Aunt Melissa watched Haley for us all summer long and we can't even express how great it was to have her here playing and teaching Haley so many new things. Haley was so sad to see her Aunt Melissa leave after the summer was over, as Clayton and I were as well but Aunt Melissa helped us transition her to daycare before she left. She took Haley 3 days in a row to her daycare for a few hours and just played with her in that environment so she could get used to it. So far she has been doing great and loves playing with all her friends! This is a picture of her first day at Daycare! Haley also loves to eat anything we are eating but we have to watch her because she will bite into everything and always gets a big piece in her mouth that have to fish out!
We finally got a 4 generation picture done when Ma and John (my grandparents) came into town to visit! We had so much fun and Haley loves to see and play with her Great Grandparents! Of course we all went shopping together too on our ladies day out! Haley loves shopping..... I guess it is in her genes! We are looking forward to seeing them again in a month in St. Louis!
Our next trip this summer was to Charlotte, NC again to visit Uncle Gary and Aunt Mandy again. I was waiting to update the blog so that i could post the pictures from there but we are still waiting on Grandma Reed (Mimi) to get them off of her camera! I will still post them when she finally sends them to me. We did have a great time though and Haley went swimming in the lake for the first time. She loved the water but hated how the life jacket kept coming over her head when she tried to float in the water on her raft.
Recently Aunt Sally, Linda, Rachel, and Aunt Melissa all came into town for Rachel's bachlorette party in ATL! Of course Haley did not attend this but we all had a great time and Haley got to play with Aunt Sally a lot that weekend especially since she stayed a few extra days to visit. Naturally we went shopping again, where Haley got several outfits, not that she really needed any clothes but what can you say, they are all just so cute!
