We have our plane tickets and are ready for take off....

On Friday April 4, 2008 Haley took her first plane ride! We arrived at the airport at 7am and she was in the best mood! Saying "Hey" to everyone around her and screaming just like a little girl with excitement. At first she was a little nervous....but then she realized how exciting this was going to be. Haley worked very diligently on her very own laptop to book her plane ticket for her trip to St. Louis, MO. She was such a happy baby on the plane and of course was just eating up all the attention everyone was giving her. After settling down a little from the initial excitement she was ready for a nap and of course we made sure she had her "tag blanket" so she could sleep!
Once we arrived in St. Louis Haley was well rested and ready for the trip to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house but not before we road the Avis shuttle bus to pick up our rental car and pay a quick visit to Great Aunt Sally and Uncle Laney. Once we finally made it to Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's house Haley was able to spend some quality time while "Ma" read her some books that her Great Aunt Sis gave her! After a busy busy day...Dad and Haley eventually settled down for a nap together!
Saturday morning Haley was finally able to meet her other Grandpa and Great Grandpa over breakfast! They were pretty excited to get to meet her!!!
Saturday evening was the night of the engagement party (the reason we were in STL). Great Uncle Art was the first to hold Haley that evening, this was the first time he was able to meet her as well but Great Aunt Linda was able to make it to Atlanta the day of Haley's birth, and now they meet again! Art and Linda are the parents of the soon to be newly weds, Rachel and Cory.
This whirl wind trip is almost to an end, but not before Haley went to her Great Great Aunt Gertie's house! Gertie had a good time tickling Haley's feet and hearing Haley laugh! After visiting with all our family members we headed to the airport again for Haley's 2nd flight! Aunt Sheryl and Melissa and of course Grandma Reed were so helpful the entire trip especially while trying to get through the airport with ALL of Haley's stuff. It's amazing how much you have to travel with when bringing an infant!
Oh...by the way...we have a very picky eater on our hands, she doesn't like it when people watch her eat so we either have to put her tag blanket over her head or she will use her hands to hide her eyes!

First Hair Cut at 5 months!!!!

Awww...her first hair clippings.....just like the rest of the ladies in Haley's life our hair is an important aspect of our lives so Grandma Reed and I took Haley to get her first hair cut from Christy at the hair salon today! Christy is Sheryl's soon to be sister in law :) She has been cutting many of our family members hair for a few years so it was only natural that we take Haley to Christy as well! Plus she has an 8 month old baby boy so she realizes how big of an event this was for all of us. Haley was such a trooper all day...flashing that big smile at everyone! She knew how beautiful she looked. She saw everyone looking at her while she got her first hair cut. Thank goodness her great Aunt Pattie was also getting her hair done at the same time and since she is a professional photographer we had her take some really good pictures of Haley's big event. Of course we saved some of her hair for memories! She even put her head down with out having to ask her while Christy was trimming the back! She's a pro already! After she was done with her hair cut we got to play and I told her how beautiful she looked and how proud i was of her for being so good during her hair cut. When she gets older I'll take her for ice cream!

Haley's First Easter!

Haley's first Easter was so much fun! We made it to the early service at Church, and then back to Grandma and Grandpa Reed's house to celebrate this amazing day with many family memebers. She spent her first Easter with both of her grandparents, great Aunt Sally, second cousin Kera and Angie, great Aunt Pattie and great Uncle Smitty and of course Aunts Sheryl and Melissa & Uncles Ryan and Whit. Ryan's parent's Mary and Bob were also able to join the festivities! She was amazed by all the colorful eggs! Next year I'm sure she will be running around looking for all the Easter eggs she can get her hands on. Amazingly enough i don't think she tried to eat any of the eggs! Maybe next year!
