Haley's First Road Trip

Haley's first road trip.....to Savannah, GA for her first St. Patty's Day Parade!!! She had so much fun with her Aunt Melissa and Uncle Whit. We took her to the parade Friday morning and popped her first bottle at 9am! What a partier!!! She will fits right in :) It was a cold morning so we had to make sure she was nice and warm but she really did enjoy the parade while she was awake. After about 15 minutes of the parade she passed out! Now that is a huge party foul so we will have to work on that HA HA! Saturday Haley went to her first Rugby tournament in Savannah. What a crazy group, but we had a great time and Haley was dressed perfectly for the event! She was all set to get a nice tan.
I finally decided to try to put Haley on her tummy the other day for some tummy time and she quickly realized she could take care of that situation on her own now and rolled her self right over. She had done it a few times before but not that quickly. I then rolled her back over on her belly to see how long it would take her a second time and she rolled right over again. I guess she will not be a tummy sleeper when she gets older. I wonder if she will be interested in crawling...she already loves to stand so maybe she will go from sitting to walking :) She's a crazy one and likes to make her own rules.
Grandma Reed bought Haley some books the other day that have different textures of animals. She is still really into feeling everything so she thought this was pretty cool during story time.
We are still feeding her cereal once a day and she is getting much better at it, but its still not her favorite. She loves her bottle! Oh...one of her newest addictions is her "tag blanket" it's a blanket that is about a foot in width and height and is really soft with satin tags hanging off the side of it....she absolutely LOVES this blanket. She must have it to fall asleep now but once you give her a pacifier and her blanket she is out! Thank goodness Aunt Melissa bought this for Haley before she was born. We went out a bought a second one so we have back up now! We made the mistake of washing it while she was trying to take a nap one day...we won't do that again :) She is doing really well with putting herself to sleep at night though. Just make sure she has her blanket and pacifier and she will usually go to bed at 7:30pm each night and sleep till the next morning!

So many new things....

Saturday morning was the big day....we started solid foods and she sat in her highchair! She certainly isn't crazy about the cereal but hopefully in time she will start to enjoy it more. Especially once we start getting to the fruits and veggies! I think the poor girl needs some flavor in her life :) We have found our FEET! Now she won't let go of them. I knew for a while she kept trying to get to them but couldn't quite find them, but now it's feet galore! She does still love her hands though...so she is either holding her feet or trying to eat her hands. Haley is sitting very well in her bumbo seat now and even likes to watch me work or do dishes! Since she was doing so well in her bumbo seat we decided to test out her Exersaucer and she seems to really like it so far. She is still a little wobbly in it so we can't leave her in there without watching her the whole time but I’m sure she is loving her new toy! Her legs couldn't touch the ground while she was in it so we put a pillow under her so she could stand up. Lately Papa Lichtenberg and Grandma Lichtenberg have been watching her and Papa has taken her on a few walks in her Baby Bjorn. She looks pretty relaxed wouldn't you say!!! Oh yeah….and she is just about to roll over from her back to her tummy…only ¼ of the way left to go. If she would just relax gravity would take her but she just hates to be on her tummy so much I think she realizes that’s where she’s headed and stops herself.
Finally Aunt Sheryl isn't sick anymore and was able to come see Haley after over a month! So far she has seen her 3 days in a row! Trying to catch up on lost time! She even helped give her a bath this weekend. Aunt Manace has been over two weekends in a row to see Haley too!
I don't have any pictures to post but Uncle Gary and Aunt Mandy came in town this weekend and babysat Haley for us while we went to a wedding. She went to dinner with them and Grandma Reed and chatted up a storm was what we heard when we got home that night. They did a GREAT job and when we got home that night Haley was sound asleep in her crib. What great Aunts and Uncles Haley has...lucky girl! We are headed to Savannah this weekend for Haley's 1st St. Patty's day parade and to see Aunt Melissa and Uncle Whit! I can't wait to take pictures of Haley in her St. Patty's dress that Aunt Melissa bought for her for the big event!

Time for solid foods!!!

Sorry, i don't have any pictures to post yet but thought i would give everyone a quick update on how Haley is doing. She will be 5 months old next week! Her 4 months shots went great and she was such a trooper! She now weighs 12 lbs 7 oz and is 24 1/2 inches long! She is getting to be a big girl! Actually she is in the 25% in her weight and 50% for her height. 50% is avg so it looks like she will be a petite young lady with normal height! Takes after her mommy there :) Finally!!! At 4 months we started putting 2 baby spoons of cereal in her bottle and WOW has she been sleeping! She takes her last bottle around 5:30pm - 6:30pm and then is awake till about 7:30pm and then she is down for the night! She also likes to try to put herself to sleep now rather than being rocked, etc. You know she is getting tired when she starts to put her hands up above her head, so that's when we lay her down for a nap and she usually squirms and gets herself all set and then falls asleep. Occasionally she can't get her self asleep and then she gets mad so then we will hold her a few more minutes. Also, instead of eating every 3 hours it is closer to 4 hours between feedings. I think we are going to try feeding her the cereal with a spoon Friday night so we will definitely take lots of pictures which i promise to post! It's still so amazing to me how much we love this little girl.....we want to be with her at all times! She still has a little separation anxiety from Clayton and I but we don't mind it too much! I love knowing that she misses me just as much as i miss her. We still sit her in the bed every morning while we get ready and talk to her while she smiles and laughs! Oh yeah.....she finally giggled! It was so cute...we were having baby talk time and making noises and she was just laughing so hard and then she finally giggled rather than just her usual scream/laugh. We love it!
